Talk:Learning patterns/Data transfers to Wikimedia Commons: Sharing institutional archives

Do we know if some institution used this help page? Nemo 17:27, 25 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Nemo bis:, the learning pattern was introduced to Deutsche Digitale Bibliothek, the German aggregator to Europeana. They plan to shape their data to make it better suitable to Wikimedia Commons. We learned in a workshop, where both volunteers and GLAM staff participated, that the matter is to complex to be solved with a learning pattern alone. Each data set requires its own solution. Some sort of coding is obviously always needed. To be helpful to GLAM staff the learning pattern would have to be transformed into a media that permits interactive learning. So, answering your question, as far as we know, the learning pattern has yet not been used on its own by GLAM staff. --Barbara Fischer (WMDE) (talk) 12:47, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks for the reply. Serving as a reference for a workshop is of course a very valuable use as well; I'm just wondering how to assess the efficacy of the text (compared to traditional help pages). I'll stay tuned. :) Nemo 15:26, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
