Talk:Learning patterns/Project management for edit-a-thons

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Hi User:Siankevans. Do you happen to know of other entities in the movement which are using Trello for project management? Thanks :) --Elitre (WMF) (talk) 16:14, 3 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Elitre (WMF)! Sorry for the delay, I'm just seeing this comment now. I don't know of other entities that are using Trello, specifically. I do know that AfroCrowd does use some form of project management, but I'm not sure if they're using software. --Siankevans (talk) 13:40, 18 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Wikimedia Phabricator[edit]

Have you considered using https://phabricator.wikimedia.org for project management instead of Trello? Hosted in Wikimedia servers, 100% free software, and user data is not provided to a 3rd party for-profit. Also, tasks created for an editathon can be associated to other Wikimedia projects or other events. Less Wikimedia silos! See mw:Phabricator, mw:Phabricator/Help, and mw:Phabricator/Project management.--Qgil-WMF (talk) 08:41, 5 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the suggestion Qgil-WMF! We will take a look into this. I hadn't heard of this software before, and we adopted Trello largely because I'd seen it used in other (non-Wiki) contexts. --Siankevans (talk) 13:40, 18 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
