Oak v Head[edit]

There was some discussion today at London 116 re the relative merits of the Shakespeare's Head v Penderel's Oak. Two reasons for going back to the Oak in May after the refurb, firstly the Head is noisier - perhaps due to low ceilings and more hard surfacing. We could probably grab a quieter area at the far end furthest from the doors, but we want to be closer to the doors so first time visitors can find us easily. Secondly the Oak serves beer in glasses. The Head had to serve us in plastic tumblers - apparently because of football. Consensus was that this wasn't enough to drive us somewhere else in April and London 117 would remain at the Shakespeare's Head, but that we would return to the reopened and refurbished Oak in May for London 118. I agree. The SH has been used in the past, and not with great success. Gordo (talk) 13:21, 13 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Support return to PO for May. SH was fine, but was busier, noisier and half the pub (the far end where we weren't) was too warm as there was no air conditioning. Joseph2302 (talk) 10:33, 20 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It is important that Wikipedians are comfortable. Good ventilation is important, for example for menopausal women. Gordo (talk) 10:56, 20 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
So the consensus is Oak for May then? If no-one creates the meetup page, I'll do it later. Joseph2302 (talk) 09:59, 10 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I vote for the Oak! Gordo (talk) 14:11, 10 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I created the May meetup page here. Joseph2302 (talk) 09:25, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
