Talk:Proposals for closing projects/Closure of Malagasy Wikibooks

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Closure is against policy and community consensus[edit]

I am leaving my protest as I feel that rejecting the closure of this project is against current policy: Closing projects policy#Decision. There was no proposal for any LangCom member that has opted to take care of PCP proposals to the mailing list, the proposal being made by a non-LangCom member. The discussion that happened there mostly was opposed to the idea of rejecting the closure as the project had no content, no community and there was community consensus to close the wiki. Notwithstanding, this proposal was closed as rejected. I find this rather disturbing and innapropriate. Mentioning Doostdar, as initiator of this proposal. Thanks, —MarcoAurelio (talk) 20:46, 10 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

As I said at LangCom, I disagree. However, I greatly respect your work here, and in light of that I have reversed the closure and reopened the discussion.
I will point out here, since you brought it up, that CPP does not require the decision to be taken in accordance with community consensus. Nevertheless, the discussion is reopened, both here and at LangCom. StevenJ81 (talk) 21:24, 10 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I also greatly respect you and your work and I must publicly acknowledge that LangCom-related tasks have revived thanks to you. I must also apologize in case any words of mine here or there in the ML have been innapropriate. —MarcoAurelio (talk) 21:34, 10 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
