Talk:Requests for comment/Blockinblox on Simple English Wikipedia

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

[1] I just wanted to point out that BlockinBlox has run into some trouble in the past at Meta-Wiki. There are also incivility concerns that occurred here (see user talk page). Nishkid64 01:27, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Back in March. --Majorly 01:28, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, but those incivility concerns and block occurred while he was an admin at Simple English Wikipedia. Nishkid64 01:30, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Was he blocked at Simple? --Majorly 01:32, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No, I think they don't even know that it ever occurred. Nishkid64 01:34, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ah well, it seems to be sorted now on Simple. It's just J Di making a fuss over nothing. --Majorly 01:37, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I guess this isn't really needed then. Nishkid64 01:43, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why on meta?[edit]

I wonder why this page is on meta

  • I have no idea why Simple English Wikipedia people didn't make requests for comments there but come to here directly.
  • This issue seems totally domestic; all rules referred in the discussion seems there local project rules. No issue on meta or other projects seems to be relevant to this request. In other words, there is no relevance to "interproject coordinations". I have therefore no clue why I am invited to discussion.

I prefer they transwiki this page back to their own project. --Aphaia 01:38, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There is a discussion over there, but J Di thought it would get more scope over here, as simple is only small. --Majorly 01:40, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
As Majorly said, J Di came here because he wanted a larger response. He only got a small discussion going on at Simple, and he waited a mere three days before making the decision to come to Meta to post this. It doesn't make sense to have this here when the next RfC deals with admin abuse. Nishkid64 01:42, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
"A mere three days"? I waited four days for a reply from Blockinblox or another administrator or somebody. Every time I checked my watchlist or recent changes, nothing changed. I felt as though every person on that wiki was deliberately ignoring me, and I didn't want this situation to be quietly forgotten about. Besides, I wouldn't have even created this request for comments (not request for arbitration or request for community ban, comments) if it weren't for this comment left by the administrator in the center of all the dispute. How am I supposed to feel as though the problem can be solved on Simple when there's already little interest and then the person causing the problem completely goes off on one and tries to tell me how I'm thinking and what I'm planning? There's no mediation committee on Simple English Wikipedia, no dispute resolution, no local RfC, just a single project page. Forgive me if you feel I acted too hastily or whatever, but this seemed to be the next step up and I feel it was necessary at the time. I didn't see this comment until after I saved the RfC and I thought there was no point in requesting deletion of it as people would still be able to comment on the problem. What I wasn't expecting was for everybody to grill me and say that I should have waited for consensus on the wiki, which at the time didn't look likely. J Di 13:23, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
"...deliberately ignoring me" – why would you feel that way J Di? Did you enjoy it? They probably thought it was so trivial it didn't need a comment. --Majorly 14:47, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
"I waited four days for a reply from Blockinblox or another administrator or somebody." -- J Di please wait a few more days then. MatthewFenton 14:55, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Upon a response from a Simple Wikipedia admin, I will tranwiki the discussion back there, and hopefully an agreement of sorts can be reached. Nishkid64 21:23, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, we haven't got any equivalent page to put this. simple:Wikipedia:Simple Talk would be an acceptable location, as it is essentially our wiki's Village Pump. Personally, I see no reason for this page to even exist, as the problem will be resolved quickly with a deletion review. PullToOpen 22:12, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
