Global reviewer

During investigating the background of this request, I notice that Meta doesn't have whichever extension grants review-related rights. I created a (likely temporary) Global reviewer group on test.wikipedia to investigate the situation.

First thing I've noticed, not all the flags used in the local Reviewer right seem to be available via GlobalGroupPermissions.

  • Reviewer right on test.wikipedia:
    • Configure how the stable version is selected and displayed (stablesettings)
    • Edit semi-protected pages (autoconfirmed)
    • Have one's own edits automatically marked as "checked" (autoreview)
    • Mark revisions as being "checked" (review)
    • Mark revisions as being "quality" (validate)
    • View recent changes patrol marks (patrolmarks)
    • View the list of unreviewed pages (unreviewedpages)
    • patrolother (patrolother)
  • Global reviewer right created with:
    • Configure how the stable version is selected and displayed (stablesettings)
    • Edit semi-protected pages (autoconfirmed)
    • Have one's own edits automatically marked as "checked" (autoreview)
    • Mark revisions as being "checked" (review)
    • Mark revisions as being "quality" (validate)
    • View the list of unreviewed pages (unreviewedpages)

You'll notice that patrolmarks and patrolother are missing, as they don't appear to be available via GlobalGroupPermissions. Are these permissions essential to the normal functioning of any Reviewer group and is their absence cause to consider global 'reviewer' rights unworkable? Kylu 16:17, 19 September 2010 (UTC)

Deleted group, unworkable at the present time. I'm curious why the patrolmarks and patrolother permissions don't show on GGP? Hm! Kylu 16:28, 19 September 2010 (UTC)
