New Status

The new status

Status:    In progress

has been added to indicate a request for rights has been approved temporarily and those rights need to be removed at a certain date. Please use

Status:    Done

only when the right has been removed again and the request has been handled finally. a×pdeHello! 11:46, 14 February 2013 (UTC)

Hmm how would Quentin's bot handle this? probably needs updating. --Bencmq (talk) 13:53, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
Why? A new status symbol just seems pointless to me. The current system works. PeterSymonds (talk) 14:06, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
Thus bots can differ between both states. An we too ... a×pdeHello! 14:37, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
I don't think I'll be using it. The current system works just fine. PeterSymonds (talk) 22:14, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
I don't get the point of this. I think I have to agree with Peter. Snowolf How can I help? 23:23, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
Bot is already able to pick up {{subst:systmp}}...--Bencmq (talk) 04:45, 15 February 2013 (UTC)
Ok, bot is able to recognize the systmp template, but how can the bot decide whether the temp admin flag has been cleared?? 22:15, 15 February 2013 (UTC)
The bot doesn't? We do. Funnily enough, it's a system that has been in place for some time now...! PeterSymonds (talk) 22:16, 15 February 2013 (UTC)
So what happens if noone removes the temp admin flag, the bot scans for the systmp template and moves the unhandled request to the archive ..? a×pdeHello! 22:26, 15 February 2013 (UTC)
We (as humans) monitor the SRAT page and mark the removed flags directly. We don't need a bot to tell us whether or not it has been done. PeterSymonds (talk) 22:30, 15 February 2013 (UTC)
Once again: The bot moves request to the archive automatically, but it's possible that by chance no steward monitors the move. How can you *guarantee* that there'll be no flag forgotten to be cleared? a×pdeHello! 22:37, 15 February 2013 (UTC)
I've checked Steward requests/Permissions/Approved temporary and see that all statuses templates were changed. Now I see here and see there's not consensus for such a change. If it was not broken, why to change it? I suggest that you revert. -- MarcoAurelio (talk) 15:39, 18 February 2013 (UTC)

Axpde, the new status may or may not be a good idea, but what certainly is a good idea would be to discuss it first and see if there is a need or consensus for it. -- Avi (talk) 21:42, 18 February 2013 (UTC)

Axpde, to answer your question, the bot moves entry from SRAT to archive when a steward says extended, removed, or renewed. I'm not sure of the exact regex but that's the effect. No it will not be missed out. Bot does not move entries until it has been marked. --Bencmq (talk) 10:17, 19 February 2013 (UTC)
