Other issues with the text[edit]

Please clarify whether any other issues with the policy text can be added to the discussion. --Andreas JN466 07:36, 26 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I've added two points, but clearly failed to understand how the translate tags work. Any help appreciated. Andreas JN466 19:17, 26 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Andreas, currently, the Board CAC has requested input on the specific area of the “note” in section 3.1. This page was set up to gather input on that text - and thank you for adding your opinions on it. Discussion on other areas of improvement for the UCoC is of course welcome and useful, but it would be probably best continued on the threads already started on Talk:UCoC. Recommendations for changes on that talk page will be summarized during a formal review of the whole policy text following final ratification of the Enforcement Guidelines at a later date. At this point, we are only working towards an immediate resolution of the specific area of the ‘note.’ Patrick Earley (WMF) (talk) 21:03, 1 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I wish you'd be a bit more flexible. :) --Andreas JN466 17:17, 14 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@PEarley (WMF): There are two Talk:UCoC pages: this one and this one. Which one are you talking about? Adrianmn1110 (talk) 02:02, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Adrianmn1110: - folks have been using both for input. Nominally, Talk:Universal_Code_of_Conduct is a talk page for the entire project, and Talk:Universal_Code_of_Conduct/Policy_text is for specific discussion of the text. So I would say the second is a more focused forum. However, comments from both (as well as other local pages where folks are talking) will collected for the process of reviewing the policy text in future. Translatable?[edit]

Why is this, as far as I'm concerned, discussion page marked for translation? We have Meta:Language select for i18n in talk, not? NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 04:08, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh: Thank you for that suggestion! In future, that might be a better way to go about it (though it may make it more difficult to add new languages). Xeno (WMF) (talk) 23:54, 3 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Current issue on Doxing[edit]

Please have a look at this posting on the English Wikipedia. I believe that it is of concern to everybody who is interesteed in the UCoC.

For those who would like a precis of the posting:

A medical journal has noted that an academic researcher who promotes a fringe viewpoint in medicine was fired for misusing medical data. The article went on to say that this researcher (whose username is similar to their real name) heavily influenced the Wikipedia article on the subject. An uninvolved editor asked where Wikipedia editors stand vis-a-vis the privacy of the contributor and correcting the article?
