Suggestion for addition to the schedule
[edit]@NevinThompson, Ocaasi, ELappen (WMF), and Connieatwork: Hello, I put a note on NevinThompson's talk page about this approximately 2 days ago, and I haven't heard back from Nevin. The time before the conference is getting short, so I'm pinging a few more people who may be able to provide feedback regarding this suggestion, based on what I infer from the WikiCredCon 2026/Schedule page's history.
There will be an online Wikimedia Café meetup on Saturday, 11 April 2026 from 7:00 AM PT to 9:00 AM PT (timestamp conversion tool), focusing on the the 2026-2027 Wikimedia Foundation Annual Plan. The featured guests will be Kelsi Stine-Rowe (senior manager, Movement Communications, Wikimedia Foundation), and Sam Walton (senior product manager, Moderator Tools, Wikimedia Foundation).
The Wikimedia Foundation Annual Plan/2026-2027/Collaboration page lists WikiCredCon as a place where a discussion about the WMF Annual Plan will happen, but I don't see a discussion about the Annual Plan shown on WikiCredCon 2026/Schedule.
Who would be the appropriate person to consider adding the Wikimedia Café online meetup to the WikiCredCon schedule for 11 April? For those who wish to join the Café session, it would partly overlap with check-in time that day, which I'm guessing would be fine given that people can participate on a mobile device in the Café session while they're waiting to check in and after they complete checking in. Also, note that the first hour of the Café starts an hour before check in time.

- Hiya Pine, let me see if I can raise this internally. Hopefully more soon! Connieatwork (talk) 13:27, 8 April 2026 (UTC)
- Hi @Pine my apologies, I did not see your message. Let me connect with the organizers to consider this. ~2026-21709-15 (talk) 13:40, 8 April 2026 (UTC)
- Sorry, @Pine, I was not logged in when I replied. A little early in the morning! Anyway, now that I am logged in, I am not seeing any messages from you on my user page (I am NevinThompson globally across Wikimedia communities).
- I have passed on to Wikimedia Foundation, who will likely update their part of the programme on the Saturday evening. I have added a bullet point above the schedule to let attendees know about the cafe section. I have said that there may be discussion at the cafe session about the annual plan topic on credibility / reliability / ai futures / threats (the general themes, as you can see, of our conference).
- Thank you for letting us know about the linkage!
- Also: I am in pre-conference planning mode, and currently rely on email rather than Meta etc to communicate. I'll do my best to check back here (and as mentioned I cannot find your message, but I am a little swamped!), so you can most efficiently reach me by email:

- @NevinThompson: thanks for following up. The talk page message which I mentioned is on your User talk:NevinThompson talk page on Meta. The diff is https://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:NevinThompson&diff=prev&oldid=30360400. ↠Pine (✉) 01:44, 11 April 2026 (UTC)
- Pine, you mentioned you had messaged me, but I can't find the original message. You have not replied in this thread and so I am wondering if you are seeing these? It's really odd! NevinThompson (talk) 17:46, 11 April 2026 (UTC)
