Discussion about this proposal[edit]

Will this pilot be success? Will we be able to attract community tech members to engage with and solve the funded issues? I am not sure but support us giving it a try. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 10:27, 14 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I think it's sensible to do something like this. The Wikimedia Chapters often fund projects relevant to their interests, so it'd be logical for a Thematic Organisation to do so. It be good to ensure that medical-relevant bot and wikidata ideas by people without the necessary tech skills are actually implemented. The proposed system could be more flexible than just assigning grants. Making sure it's well advertised so that people know it's available will possibly be a challenge. Also, tech solution timescales can vary over orders of magnitude. The system should therefore ideally be able to accommodate supporting tasks that take 4 hours or tasks that take 4 weeks. T.Shafee(Evo﹠Evo)talk 00:51, 15 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Yes if someone solves the issues in 4 hour or 4 weeks we would release the funds at that point. The reason for the deadline is so that we do not have large numbers of outstanding financial liabilities. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 04:55, 15 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
