Problem with contributions on Wikidata

@ASally Ruth, B722N, EO3669, Emma Oruk, and Sandra Aceng: I recently reviewed the Wikidata contributions for this course. I found that many participants were creating items that had no indication of notability whatsoever. In several cases, they started by creating a Wikidata item for a student, suggesting that they were trying to create items about themselves. Both of these indicate considerable confusion about the policies of the Wikidata project and how best to contribute.

Could you please review your training materials to see if there are ways to make these policies clearer and help prevent similar issues in the future? Thanks, Bovlb (talk) 21:14, 13 May 2026 (UTC)

@ASally Ruth, B722N, EO3669, Emma Oruk, and Sandra Aceng: Did you get a chance to look into this? Bovlb (talk) 01:39, 23 May 2026 (UTC)

@Bovlb I have reached out to the organising team to ensure that notability is followed and also put in place a quality improvement plan for both the new items and existing items in line with the policies. B722N (talk) 09:20, 23 May 2026 (UTC)
