I think a Thursday - Friday conference, with opening events Thursday and pre-conference events Wednesday, would be preferable. Then there could be socializing on the weekend, etc. +sj+

I see that arrivals and greeting is supposed to be 6-8pm on Thursday. Is there any possibility of having at least something open earlier? Flights from North America nearly all arrive before noon, mostly around 10am, so having something available then for people who need to orient themselves and figure out what's going on could be helpful. Actually, if people were willing to volunteer to man a Wikimedia greeting station at the airport and provide some information (maps/schedules/etc?) that could be even more helpful. --Delirium 03:31, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)

sounds like a cool idea. This schedule is rather preliminary. Anyway, it should possible to check in at the venue earlier, move your stuff to your room, meet other wikipedians and explore Frankfurt. --Elian 16:14, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)

The way I see is that there would be some actual event at 6-8, but people would be arriving all day, and that some organisers would be there probably from the day before, so could meet people whenever, but not in any organised way. Angela 00:10, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)

It would be great if some of those participating at the congress in Frankfurt expanded the article about the city (in their own language Wikipedia) and took a couple more pictures of it for commons. It could even be arranged from Frankfurt during the congress as a kind of social event; writing a Wikipedia article together in real-life for once. +sj+

Sunday dinner

We are planning a banquet dinner for Sunday. Catered. Projected cost: ~15 Euros per person. We don't have to charge full cost to everyone; economies of scale mean that additional people will cost less than this, and I'd like for everyone to come. But we should charge something beyond the standard day's fee for people only coming on Sunday. (We should somehow include this in the conference fee for people staying all 4 days... perhaps 50 Euros is enough for 3 days + party + banquet?) +sj+ 05:51, 29 Mar 2005 (UTC)
