Talk:Wikimedia Blog/Drafts/Continuing our Panel Discussion: How can you write an open access encyclopedia in a closed access world?

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

@Ocaasi (WMF):, regarding this edit -- is there any possibility anybody would think John's org is affiliated with WMF? This strikes me as a complete non-sequitur, considering that it's at this point entirely routine for WMF blog contributors to have no formal affiliation. I'd remove. I also see that Nikkimaria removed "of Wiki Strategies" next to my name; this is something John and I discussed in some detail, he wanted to be sure to give me credit, and...while I'd stop short of insisting...I did devote substantial business resources (aka my time and energy) to making this happen, and a mention of my business seems like a modest and reasonable reflection of that. (Also helps unfamiliar readers piece together why the panel announcement is on wikistrategies.net ) Finally, there was some discussion of restoring Peter Suber's book...any plans to do that? I'm not sure how a footnote would be handled in a blog post, so I'll just paste here:

For any of you new to the world of Open Access, as I am, I highly recommend Peter Suber's Book, Open Access, published by MIT Press and available for free at: https://mitpress.mit.edu/sites/default/files/9780262517638_Open_Access_PDF_Version.pdf

And lest I forget!

These details notwithstanding, thank you both for your efforts improving the piece! -Pete F (talk) 23:53, 5 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
