Election to SG?[edit]

Like Christophe (from WMFR) says on Etherpad "Election? Election for the SG?"

That is a paid position (from the budget a very well paid position) and we're not going to use a HR company but instead hire based on politics? Béria Lima msg 14:42, 12 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That sounds charming. Please tell me that this is not a gravy train distribution based on nepotism, and without background checks. I seem to remember WMF once hired a convicted felon as its COO. --JN466 17:04, 12 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The criteria still have to be decided, so rather than criticizing them you need to contribute producing them; "election" is the term used in the charter so it's formally due. The HR company is a step which comes after the criteria; like Florence's proposal of a consultant to assist the chair and the committees, it needs an ad-hoc expense resolution (or a budget) and can't be decided before that. --Nemo 20:27, 12 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Incorporation[edit]

How does incorporation happen? If not a meeting, I suppose incorporation requires at least an incorporation statement + charter signed by its members, in most countries? But then, who are the members signing the document, chapters (in the person of their presidents) or council members? See also Talk:Chapters_Council/Draft_charter_of_the_Wikimedia_Chapters_Association#Members_of_the_association. --Nemo 20:27, 12 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Other organs?[edit]

I would urge the use of another term beside "organs"; the way in which it is being used in this context is rarely used. Other responsibilities? offices? roles? Risker (talk) 21:17, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
