Talk:Wikimedia Chapters Association/Resolutions/13. Substitute council members

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Announcement of substitute council members[edit]

Can there be a public place where we can announce on-wiki substitute council members, in addition to just personally messaging the chair? Perhaps we can create a new meeting subpage at Wikimedia Chapters Association/Meetings in advance of our fast-approaching Wikimania session.--Pharos (talk) 21:54, 8 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A good suggestion, though rather than a special page on meta, I suggest that Council members can choose to say they are sending a substitute for any planned WCA meeting on the talk page for the agenda, to help everyone coordinate for logistics and so forth. I would stress that they "can" do this as a nice but informal thing to do, we should avoid making it a procedural requirement of being represented by a substitute. -- (talk) 22:19, 8 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, I just mean something informal on the talk page of Wikimedia Chapters Association/Meetings/Hong Kong or whatever.--Pharos (talk) 22:38, 8 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
