Status updates needed[edit]

According to Wikimedia_chapters#Planned_chapters, this list is supposed to be for groups that are actively preparing to become a chapter. I think we should delist a few that dont appear to be moving forward, moving them to "Chapters in discussion phase". For example, Wikimédia Québec has not provided an update to this table in over 2.5 years. I have asked them for a status update. Wikimedia Georgia is listed as "Development", with a last status update over 1.5 years ago.

Wikimedia Croatia is obviously stuck for reasons beyond their control, and Talk:Wikimedia Kazakhstan indicates they have been waiting for a response from ChapCom for over a year. John Vandenberg (talk) 00:26, 12 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed WM-QC from the list. Amqui (talk) 04:19, 12 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! Should it be listed on Wikimedia chapters/Chapters in discussion phase? Is there still a local community wanting to have their own chapter? John Vandenberg (talk) 09:37, 12 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Not really, active Quebecers had formed the COMQC which acts as a sub-unit (for lack of a better term) of WM-CA. And which is in fact the most active part of WM-CA... We will keep the pages of WM-QC on Meta in case future discussions arise to form a new chapter. Amqui (talk) 03:55, 13 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hi John, Just to clarify, WM Kazakhstan has since moved forward in the recognition process to the next step which is the bylaws review, Chapcom/Affcom is currently waiting for their replies at Talk:Wikimedia_Kazakhstan/Statute. --Bence (talk) 09:30, 12 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Great. Can you update the status on this page and/or set the status date? It currently has a status date of 2011-04-28. --John Vandenberg (talk) 09:35, 12 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Updated; the last time I heard from a Kazakh representative was August 5, 2012. I also fixed the link to their bylaws page on Meta. odder (talk) 09:41, 12 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
