Great to hear. I think it is a fair in Tundikhel. We can do a focused outreach for Nepali Wikipedia as well as Doteli. What activities can we do in the event? Can somebody please explain?--Ganesh Paudel (talk) 06:49, 30 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia stall at Gaura festival

AS we know, especially most of the middle- west and far west parts of Nepal celebrate this festival. Every year,peoples belonging to that region celebrates Gaura festival at Kathmandu(Tudikhel). I think its very helpful to give information about Wikipedia(Doteli & others) during the festival.

Festival name:- Gaura festival[गौरा पर्व]

Date:- 2072/05/19(5th Sept. 2015)

Venue:- Tudikhel, Kathmandu

Required materials:- Banner, pamphlet, poster & information about Wikipedia

Required manpower:- 2 or 3(Minimum)

Estimated Cost(Stall rent):- Rs. 6,000(six thousand)

Janak ji, we already have some banners and pamphlet printed from earlier Wikipedia programs. Please do let me know when I can hand it over to you? Regarding the Poster, I am not sure if we have any. However, if you want to print some lets print it along with the Wikipedia introduction Boucher in Doteli that yourself, Ramji and Ramesh ji had prepared. For the Budget, we will need to have a pre-approval from the WMF for the expenses if needed. Ganesh ji, Saroj ji, whats your remarks on this? I think running a stall in Gaura Festival shall be a big outreach event. For this event we can make a banner of Wikipedia (especially focused upon Doteli). The poster should give the following information : "Wikipedia is free and open encyclopedia, Everyone can write and edit it. It is available in many languages. It is possible to have Wikipedia in Doteli as well. You can write on Nepali wikipedia (ne.wikipedia.org) other existing WPs of Nepali Language and you can also write in Doteli." As far as the budget question I think we can spend some amount(Rs 1000-1500) for banner from our account, that can be reduced from the budget proposed for WP event at Dhangadi but We don't have Rs6000 budget for stall booking.
