Presentation template on Google
[edit]Hi there, can the presentation template be accessible from an Wikimedia service and in an w:Open Format, instead of being a document only available on Google Drive? Wikimedians for software freedom#Google_Suite has information on why is this important. Mind Booster Noori (talk) 17:40, 31 March 2026 (UTC)
- Hi @Mind Booster Noori. I can ask. What format would be useful? Keeping in mind we'd want to make it easy for folks to use the template. :) Chris Koerner (Wikimedia Foundation) [he/him] (talk) 16:25, 2 April 2026 (UTC)
- Hi! I'd suggest using w:OpenDocument Format (.odp), which AFAIK Google Docs already exports to. Mind Booster Noori (talk) 13:41, 3 April 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you. We're working on creating an OpenDocument version. It's tricky as there's some manual work to make sure it works right. We'll share an update as soon as we can. Chris Koerner (Wikimedia Foundation) [he/him] (talk) 16:26, 10 April 2026 (UTC)

Birthday mode expansion by one month until May 6th, please
[edit]I am unsurprised that Birthday mode, prototyped by @BaduFerreira, has rolled out to less Wikipedias than anticipated, nearly as it feels like it is only on English Wikipedia, I understand it ends April 6th and I desire an expansion by one month. Brief description below:
- Birthday mode, prototyped by @BaduFerreira, has only released to few Wikipedias, nearly as if it was only available on English Wikipedia.
- The feature is available starting February 15, 2026, until April 6th, 2026
- I am ambitiously writing a decent licensed short fan animation.
- I have to ask you for this license for this fan animation. That means that I need permission to reanimate the 25th anniversary mascot for the storyboard and final production.
- I plan on "investing" on a MacBook Air and get hiring to found a Apple Motion computer animation studio
- If I can approve of Alexander Polinsky, the voice of "Jelly" from animated television slapstick Breadwinners, I can hire him.
