Incubator[edit]

Hi! I am interested in organizing it in Incubator in HBS Wikivoyage... Anyone among you experienced with something like this? I know Esperanto Wikivoyage did it before, also while in incubator I think... --Zblace (talk) 17:13, 25 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong spelling in the campaign title[edit]

I just noticed that the spelling of Wikipedia in the campaign title is wrong. It is spelled Wikipdia (missing e). See this link: https://outreachdashboard.wmflabs.org/campaigns/wikipdia_asian_month_2022/overview I hope somebody will correct it. --Jojit (talk) 00:54, 11 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It's fixed. Thank you so much. Reke (talk) 13:58, 11 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Qoutreach dashboard[edit]

Hi. I have never used this feature before. Can you please tell what TYPE this should be? (Basic, article based, editathon?) also, how are the articles tracked? Some editors don't only work on Asia related articles within a month time... Will we have to manually filter through the contributors' edits? Or how can we make sure the dashboard only tracks Asia related articles? Thanks in advance Xia (talk) 10:13, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Reke? :) Xia (talk) 17:22, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hellooo :) Xia (talk) 13:52, 26 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Reke Hi, the start date is coming soon, would be nice to get some anwer :) Xia (talk) 17:02, 27 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Xia: Sorry for late replying. Type Basic is fine. And you may have a open form or a "wikipedia:" page on your Wikipedia for participants referring their works. After making sure it's a qualified works, add the user in your list and assigned the article to him.--Reke (talk) 04:44, 31 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
thank you Xia (talk) 11:03, 31 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Certificate of the participant[edit]

In Bashkir Wikipedia, we issue participant certificates to contest participants. Such certificates are needed by those who collect a portfolio or pass a qualification. Could you issue international certificates to the participants? Thanks. ZUFAr (talk) 04:56, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@ZUFAr : According to my experience, the largest problem of issuing certificates is international postal system. How do you think that if we provided the file and financial aid, so you can print and mail the certificates by your community?--Reke (talk) 04:53, 31 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I think digital ceritficates are fine too. They can be sent out by email. Xia (talk) 11:04, 31 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Reke We issue local certificates ourselves. If the participant received an international certificate from the organizers of the competition, it would be better. If you make a form, I could add the participant's name, print it, and send it to the participant. If you agree, I can do it. I will mark who received the certificate on the competition page, this can be tracked by Q-code.--ZUFAr (talk) 12:11, 12 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @ZUFAr, this sound like a good plan. Reke will give you more information when it is about time to deliver rewards. Joycewikiwiki (talk) 09:37, 15 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Joycewikiwiki, Any certificates this time for the WAM Ambassadors for Wikipedia English? -SabyaC (talk) 20:50, 25 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @SabyaC, the international team only provide Barnstar to eligible editors. Local campaing organizor can decided whether also provide certification to their Ambassodors or not. Previously, the certification template was send to campaing organizors through mass message, you could reachout to your campaign organizor for further information. CentralNotice[edit]

Hello. I was looking for the CentralNotice of the Asian Month 2022, in order to translate it into my local language, but didn't found it. It doesn't seem to be in the CentralNotice Calendar, but I am not familiar with all of that. Regards. - Daxipedia - 達克斯百科 (d) 22:43, 31 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Daxipedia, there will be no Central Notice for this year. Since every Wikipedia might have different start and end date. But many thanks for your reminder. Joycewikiwiki (talk) 08:55, 4 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

How to review the articles?[edit]

Hello, I've never used this tools before. Could someone please tell how to review the article submitted? Thanks. BlackShadowG (talk) 14:57, 1 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I will use it for the first time too. Is it possible to shoot a sample demo video for this? Kurmanbek (talk) 19:58, 1 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Same here. I and the other judge from fr.Wikipedia feel completely lost with Dashboard, compared to Fountain. Not sure why we can see so many "articles edited" or "Commons uploads" without any link with the Asian Month, while only the created/submitted ones should be tracked ? What means an "assigned article" and an "available article" ? Fountain interface seemed to be more streamlined and practical (for the judges, and maybe for the contestants). - Daxipedia - 達克斯百科 (d) 21:21, 1 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Same here in German language Wikipedia. The jury misses the time frame filter, the letter/word count filter, the warning boxes filter, and the "created by uploader" filter. 1 2 3 4 Why are we switching to another tool, that misses the features? Can we use to Fountain Tool for this round? Sebastian Wallroth (talk) 18:08, 3 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have the same thoughts. How does an organizer go about approving an entry, and how does a participant know if its entry is approved? BR --Bairuilong (talk) 02:30, 4 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Same here in Catalan language Wikipedia. The jury and participants are puzzled. We were unaware that we can change it to Fountain. So now I have proposed them to do it. KajenCAT (talk) 23:00, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

We will give every on a sample with screenshot soon. Fountain Tool can track new articles only, but this year we hope editing exist articles can be included. We may talk with developer to see if Fountain Tool could be updated new function in next year, then it can go back. However Fountain can be used in this year.--Reke (talk) 04:31, 4 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @BlackShadowG, @Kurmanbek, @Sebastian Wallroth, @Bairuilong, @KajenCAT, and all the WAM organizors. This is a brief guidence of Programs & Event Dashboards. Feel free to use Fountain as usual for this year. thanks for your understanding! Joycewikiwiki (talk) 09:33, 15 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Missing reward postcards[edit]

Hello,

I am a German Wikipedian with several participations to WAM in the past years. I'm missing the reward postcards this year. It was always a nice moment to find a (physical) mailing originating from the far east in the postbox, no matter how late after the WAM it came. As a matter of fact, these postcards were my main motivation to participate, constituting a great ideational reward (and, in my case, an enjoyment for my wife, too). Why were they dismissed this year and can or will they return in 2023? Regards, Grand-Duc (talk) 15:47, 1 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, same here... These postcards were an additional motivation for us editors to participate in the event. Also, even though I received the postcards for WAM 2019 and WAM 2020, I did not receive my postcard (both digital and hardcopy) for WAM 2021 even though I was eligible. It would be nice if any organizer could check on that and give any updates. -SabyaC (talk) 16:18, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Dear @Grand-Ducand@SabyaC, I am very sorry that the 2022 WAM will not provide postcard. This is a decision made only becuase of the great challenge on collecting and sending the physical postcards from and to so many different palces in the world. The back and forth, and missing package with unknown reason had made this work tromendously unpredictable, both reagrding the timeline and budget.(Lucky that you received those postcards!) We are in shorthanded this year, I will pass your wishes to next year's organizor, and discuss internally about the mailing system. Thank you for your understanding. Joycewikiwiki (talk) 06:42, 14 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Joycewikiwiki, I understand that in WAM 2022 they will not be sending postcards, but I mentioned the one for WAM 2021 which I was eligible and neither got the digital or the physical postcards. Thanks for taking up the issue with the organizers and hopefully from next year the postcards will be brought back again as those were a huge source of motivation to participate in the competition. Also, when can we expect the postcards for WAM Ambassadors for 2022? -SabyaC (talk) 07:12, 14 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @SabyaC, I am really sorry, tracking specific postcard through international post system is very difficult. Who was sending the postcards is doing her best to track. WAM Ambassadors for 2022 will also receive digital barnstars(special version) as there will be no postcards for this year. Joycewikiwiki (talk) 07:37, 19 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Shall I Participate?[edit]

Dear Fellow Organisers, I would like to participate in Asian Month 2022. I know I am late but think that not too late. My community is not taking part this year but as an editor i would like to participate. Still, it is 15 days remaining for the event so shall I participate? If yes, what will be the procedure? I previously participated in Asian month but don't intimate by any message for this year event so would you please approve my request to take part in this year event? Barnstars[edit]

Who has to provide the barnstars? The local organizer or the WAM team? --NGC 54 (talkcontribs) 12:25, 13 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
