  • After posting to the India Wikipedia network [Wikimedia India Community list <wikimediaindia-l@lists.wikimedia.org>] on 27 Apr 2019, got this feedback:
    • Dear Frederick, Great to see such an initiative. I would like to suggest something important in my volunteer capacity. I would like to be anonymous about this suggestion. You can use this as you wish without attributing it to my name or user name.
    • Idea: Please keep some edits cap to vote and to participate in board elections. Membership can be open for all. But not board positions and voting. For example at least 300 edits to vote for and 3000-4000 edits or 300 uploads to commons for board elections (figures are just for example).
    • This helps the User group to a great deal. I am suggesting this based on West Bengal Wikimedians UG bylaws, which is helping them to get the right people on board. Please tweak this idea according to your needs if at all you like it. Even if you used it or not, no need to get back to me.

Suggestion on name[edit]

@Fredericknoronha: Hi Frederick, thanks for initiating this, much needed to grow the community in Goa. I would be happy to be involved more, but I have a quick suggestion for now regarding the name. I suggest renaming it to Wikimedians of Goa User Group. It is obvious that there will be people from various Wikimedia projects, but not just Wikipedia. For the name to be more inclusive, I suggest this. KCVelaga (talk) 11:44, 2 May 2019 (UTC)

      • The suggestion was a bit late, and we were already deep into the process. So we got recognition as the Wikipedians of Goa User Group. Anyway, in spirit we agree with the idea that it includes WIkimedians (not just pedians!) Thanks, Krishna. Fredericknoronha (talk) 21:03, 30 August 2019 (UTC)
