Talk:Www.wikivoyage.org template/temp sky background

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Let's work on a sky background version here.

To preview the HTML select "Preview HTML" from the drop down menu next to the page top Search box (on the Content page). --Rogerhc (talk) 00:14, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

That looks great - well done! :) --Nicholasjf21 (talk) 08:37, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please discuss adopting this version, at → Wikivoyage/Lounge#New_Interlingual_Portal. --Rogerhc (talk) 05:22, 21 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

css[edit]

I think the classes (lang1, lang2, lang3 ... lang10) position the divs around the logo but I don't see where this CSS is. Where it is? Please someone who knows? Thx --Rogerhc (talk) 01:11, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yep. It's in MediaWiki:Gadget-wm-portal.css. Feel free to advertise that in the portal talk header template. πr2 (t • c) 01:13, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Even better? πr2 (t • c) 01:36, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I copied the CSS from the "gadget" into the page so we can customize it. --Rogerhc (talk) 04:33, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Looks great, by the way. πr2 (t • c) 04:50, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Focus on Search[edit]

Trouble getting focus on Search input field. The cursor should be blinking in there after page loads and waiting for user to type input without any need for user to click in the input field, but it isn't. Anyone know how to do this? I just now realized it is working in www.wikivoyage.org template; I'll go study how it works there. --Rogerhc (talk) 16:50, 20 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Done. autofocus="autofocus" fixed that. Note: to see the blinking cursor in the Search text box you must focus the preview window. (Click on the preview window's title bar, or use Alt + Tab, to focus that window and see the blinking cursor; don't click on the window's contents itself or you will trump the text field's autofocus in favor of whatever part of the contents you clicked on.) --Rogerhc (talk) 17:21, 20 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
