Overview
[edit]The Google25 Internship Program in Trichy is a two-day intensive initiative designed to introduce student participants to collaborative knowledge creation within the Wikimedia ecosystem, with a primary focus on developing and enriching Tamil Wikipedia articles. The program emphasizes digital research skills, encyclopedic writing, policy compliance, and community participation.

- Creating new articles in domains where Tamil-language coverage is limited, using the list of priority topics supplied by Google for the internship.
- Improving article structure, infoboxes, categories, navigation templates, and internal links.
- Ensuring adherence to Tamil Wikipedia content policies, style guidelines, and citation standards.
Day 1 – Foundations & Skills Development

- Overview of Tamil Wikipedia’s growth, policies, and community-driven editorial processes.
Session 2: Editing Tamil Wikipedia

- Researching reliable sources and applying encyclopedic writing principles.
- Hands-on training in wikitext editing, citations, infobox usage, and templates.
Session 3: Article Assessment & Gap Identification
[edit]- Evaluating existing Tamil Wikipedia articles for quality, neutrality, and sourcing gaps.
- Assigning improvement topics for team-based work.
Day 2 – Content Development
