1 May: Wow! I am amazed! The contest takes off with a great blast! During the first 24 hours a total of 28 articles in 9 languages were created, by 12 participants. On top of that, another 3 people have signed up, but have yet to add their first contributions. The leader is currently User:Ggia. John Andersson (WMSE) (talk) 11:55, 2 May 2014 (UTC)

2 May: Two more participants, User:Semso98 and User:Kotivalo, joined the contest during the night. Welcome! 3 May: During the third day a total of 36 new articles have been created and 1 new participant has joined the challenge! Welcome User:Lord Bumbury! 4 May: 150 articles have now been improved by 25 participants, in 19 different languages. 5 May: Another 11 articles have been created so far today, with our first contributions in Belarusian and Hindi! We welcome User:Fraxinus, FjollaB and User:Artificial123. In the mean time, the Swedish National Heritage Board, Riksantikvarieämbetet, just recently uploaded over 100 images of Umeå that probably can be used to illustrate several articles. 9 May: Today we would like to announce that the person that creates the 400th article will receive a specially designed award to showcase on their user page! Awesome, right!? The winners will be able to brag with the Golden Umepedia Challenge Award, and everyone that contributes will receive the Umepedia Challenge Award.

13 May: Sorry for the silence everybody! I will add a more detailed summary of what has happened the last days tomorrow, but I would like to welcome User:ANKAN GHOSH DASTIDER who has made Bengali Wikipedia into a great resource about Umeå, and User:MTWT2012 who gave us the first translations into Japanese and User:Danielt998 who is writing on Welsh Wikipedia! 14 May: Since the beginning of the 11 May a total of 135 articles have been created! Seriously impressive!

15 May: The productivity continues to be fantastic! Today 27 new articles have been created and many older contributions have been expanded and improved as well! That's something I am very happy to see as that will make the articles much more useful for the readers. Today we also received our first two contributions in Italian. Thank you Jaakko for that and welcome to the Challenge! Also, User:Artificial123 has now created all articles in Belarusian (!) and is continuing with translations into Ukrainian. 17 May: So we have just past the halfway line of the contest and the current top ten are:

20 May: Today 6 new extra articles have been added to the contest! A number of languages have translated all of the first 40 articles and we have had some good news from the municipality, so we are hopeful that we will be able to place signs next to these buildings and parks as well!
