How to add an entry[edit]

I tried to archive an older entry, but the templates didn't work. Here is the diff I tried: Special:Diff/9813419 @Elitre (WMF), Whatamidoing (WMF), and Keegan (WMF): maybe you can figure out how to make it work? -Pete F (talk) 21:17, 9 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

User:Verdy p fixed it for you. Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 18:21, 10 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
In fact I made it work (you forgot the surrounding tags for a wikitable, like in other archived months), as news items are generated as rows, so that their columns are properly aligned vertically).
But I reverted it because it was much too soon for that archival. News are archived after two/three months depending on the colume so that they don't fill up too much space on the home page. And they must be archived starting by the oldest one, not the newest one like you did.
This is true even if the news was about a community discussion which is closed after some decision but whose results would still need to be read and could still be commented while its application starts. And even if the subject is controversial (it is even more important not to hide the controversial subjects due to their many consequences and progressive application possibly with further modifications and returns of experience). verdy_p (talk) 20:55, 10 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

subpages[edit]

It's time to create subpage by year IMHO.--Alexmar983 (talk) 09:50, 13 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
