The Afrosounds Project started a campaign to increase contributions of content about African music and sounds across various Wikimedia projects through this campaign tagged "The Afrosounds Edit Contest". This project was birthed out of the identified gap in knowledge, misrepresented facts and bias available on the free encyclopedia and creative commons as it concerns topics around music, sounds and related arts in Africa.
