The Nexus Project was formed after the success of a Software Freedom Day Meetup organized by a group of second years students on 14 September 2018. The event was organized under the banner of FOSS Club, SJCET which was left in favour of the name 'The Nexus Project' as the members of the club wanted to inclusive of the idea of free hardware. Since then the club has organized several meetups for it's web development community- Finding 404 and a Pre-FYPM event and workshops on Git/Github, Tensorflow and structured data modeling for AI using Wikidata.
