The Wikipedia Library/Newsletter/July-August 2025
In this issue we highlight new partnerships, Wikimania and, as always, a roundup of news and community items related to libraries and digital knowledge.
New partnerships
[edit]The Wikipedia Library is announcing several new partnerships:
- Times of Malta: the oldest daily newspaper still in circulation in Malta.
- Africa Intelligence (and the French version): strategic information on the political, diplomatic, and economic affairs shaping the African continent.
- Intelligence Online (and the French version): an investigative daily publication focusing on global intelligence.
- La Lettre: a daily publication covering the inner workings of power in France's political, business and media sectors.
- Glitz (and the French version): an investigative media dedicated to the luxury sector.
See all available partners on your My Collections page.
Spotlight: Wikimania
[edit]Wikimania 2025 recently concluded online and in-person in Nairobi, Kenya. Among the many presentations at this 20th anniversary edition of Wikimania was a presentation by The Wikipedia Library Team. This session provided an overview of how The Wikipedia Library works, how partnerships work for the project and opportunities for the community to collaborate. The objectives of the session were to provide Wikimedians with up to date information on how they can use The Wikipedia Library for their contributions to Wikimedia projects and give them clarity on how they can collaborate with the project. Check out the recording! (Also, as a bonus, a Wikipedia Library-related lightning talk.)
All of the Wikimania recordings will soon be available on Commons.
