The Wikipedia Library/Processes/Announcing partnerships

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Because we want to make sure that the Wikimedia community gets notified of new accounts in multiple venues within the same block of time in order to create an even playing field for Wikipedians in multiple language communities, make sure to do the following within a narrow window of time (preferably a couple of hours, but at least in the same 12-hour window).

Status for most recent release[edit]

  • Make sure all new partners are set to Available in the Library Card platform admin interface
  • UpdateThe_Wikipedia_Library/Journals
  • Notify requesting editors (check English, Meta, non-English, check-in surveys)
  • Mass Message Global
  • Mass Message TWL Subscribers (Books & Bytes)
  • Do an English Language watchlist notice
  • Email relevant listservs
  • Notify relevant WikiProjects
  • Post on Twitter and Facebook about the announcement
  • Announce to Signpost newsroom
  • Add to en:Template:Find sources twl

One of the most important steps is to update The_Wikipedia_Library/Journals to include all of the newest partnerships.

Watchlist notice[edit]

  • You have to be an admin to edit watchlist notices. Post the message on the talk page and request that an admin add it.

On en:MediaWiki:Watchlist-messages update and add a revised version of:
