Tell us who you are, why you are applying, and your relevant experience. | I've been an active member of the community since 2019. My commitment is guided by a deep conviction: that collaboration, knowledge sharing and local development can transform communities in a sustainable way. With this in mind, I have initiated and organized more than a dozen activities over the years, ranging from training sessions to community meetings. These initiatives aimed not only to strengthen participants' skills, but also to encourage inclusion and value the diversity of backgrounds and experiences, so that everyone could find their place and contribute in their own way.
Alongside these actions, I have also founded and led an informal community for several years. This responsibility, although non-institutional, has enabled me to develop a keen sense of listening and sensitivity to the needs and expectations of its members. Managing an informal community involves a number of challenges: mobilizing people without formal means, motivating people with varied profiles, managing differences in availability or vision, and maintaining a collective dynamic over time. Through this experience, I learned how to build trust, rally around shared values, and encourage active participation that is inclusive and respectful of differences. As co-organizer of several regional events, I was also able to strengthen my skills in coordination and collaborative working. These projects have taught me to manage remote teams, deal with diverse logistical and cultural constraints, and adapt intervention formats to local contexts. I became aware of the importance of a flexible yet structured approach, capable of combining global objectives with realities on the ground. My involvement in the MENA & SSA regional fund committee over the past three years has been a major step forward in my career. This experience gave me concrete exposure to the challenges of governance, project management and decision-making at a more strategic level. I acquired solid skills in community needs analysis, equitable resource allocation, conflict management and project monitoring. Participating in grant allocation processes has given me a better understanding of funding mechanisms and the importance of governance based on transparency, equity and accountability. This role has also enabled me to interact with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds, to learn from their perspectives and to improve my ability to communicate clearly and inclusively. I have learned to defend collective positions, arbitrate complex decisions and ensure that all voices are heard and respected in decision-making processes. My candidacy today is based on a sincere desire to pursue and deepen this commitment. I want to put my accumulated experience to good use in new initiatives, to amplify the impact of community actions and foster lasting change. I'm convinced that communities have enormous potential, and that with the right support, they can meet today's challenges with creativity, solidarity and efficiency. For me, this opportunity represents the next logical step in my career: an opportunity to contribute on a larger scale, while continuing to learn and evolve. With my experience in the field, my skills in governance and my collaborative approach, I'm ready to get fully involved, with rigor, listening and commitment, to further the values and objectives of this program. |
Please describe what do you hope to do if elected. | If elected, I will commit to actively representing the needs of the community, promoting inclusive participation and supporting local initiatives. I will ensure greater transparency in decision-making processes and encourage collaboration between members for a lasting collective impact. |
