Introduction and expectations (max. 600 words for both questions)
Tell us who you are, why you are applying, and your relevant experience. I am Chinonso from Nigeria in Sub Saharan Africa. Through my interactions over the years, I've become familiar with various cultures, languages and community needs.

I am applying because I strongly believe in respectful, safe and inclusive spaces for all contributors. I am an advocate for free and open knowledge; a rollbacker and member of the Small Wiki Monitoring Team (SWMT) helping to revert vandalism and report spam. As a multilingual programs manager and event organizer, I have seen firsthand the need to uphold fair and clear behavioral guidelines especially in culturally sensitive environments. As a U4C candidate, I am committed to supporting community health, so that contributors especially from underrepresented regions can continue to contribute and collaborate without prejudice or fear of harassment.

Please describe what do you hope to do if elected. If I am elected to the Universal Code of Conduct (UCoC) Coordinating Committee, my priority will be to help ensure that the UCoC enforcement guidelines are applied in a fair and clear manner, with cultural sensitivity across all Wikimedia communities.

I will work to amplify marginalized voices and emerging communities particularly in Sub Saharan Africa who often face challenges with power dynamics and conflict resolution. My focus will be on making the UCoC policies understandable and accessibile to everyone, especially new contributors, by providing multilingual resources and simplifying the enforcement guidelines to support diverse communities. I'll also advocate for inclusive digital spaces where policies are incorporated into tool design and development. I'd work with the committee by all means to promote open dialogue, trust, equity and confidentiality in handling reports. This will in turn help to build a stronger bridge between local practice and global policy.
