Tell us who you are, why you are applying, and your relevant experience. Hello, I'm Luke081515 and I've been in the U4C since its beginning in june 2024 and I'm running for the re-election. I started as a wikimedian at the german wikipedia in 2013; I was a member of the german arbcom between june 2018 and november 2024. To be able to provide enough time for the U4C work, I shifted my focus and did not run for re-election for the german arbcom in november 2024. I like the U4C because it fills a gap where comnmunities do not have resources or processes to solve a conflict or fail to do so. The U4C also has the opportunity to give a community the chance to solve the issues on their own and to provide help through the process, which I prefer.

I enjoyed working for the U4C in it's first year. We established a lot of processes, and we started with case work and organized our first annual review. The U4C is still new but I believe our work already made a difference. I would like to continue this work for two more years.

Please describe what do you hope to do if elected. If I'm re-elected, my focus will be in the following areas:
  • Optimize processes: The U4C is still new, and we had to build a lot from scratch; we used best practices from other areas and tried to find our own way. But this is nothing just done once, it's important to review the processes and optimize them.
  • Work on cases: The U4C has a lot of different tasks: Annual reviews, preventive work, working on cases and many more. Not every member has to do every task; instead it's good to focus contributing on the areas were one's strenghts are at, but of course also supporting the colleagues in the other areas if they need support. I'm someone that likes to work on cases, thinking/brainstorming of actions, solutions, analysing complex situations. I want to continue working on that.
  • Coordinating work: The U4C also needs internal coordination. That's one of the tasks that is not visible to the outside. With a few other colleagues, I'm one of the people coordinating what needs to be done at which time; supporting colleagues that at that moment have less time for that, making sure the commmittee works as a whole.
