Hi, I am Iván. I am an active administrator and editor on both eswiki and eswikinews. I was part of the UCoC drafting committee during the final stage. I have extensive experience in governance and community organising processes at the Wikimedia level. I hereby provide the following examples: I have been president of my chapter for 13 years, and I am a co-founder of the chapter. I am also a member of the board of Wikimedia Mexico.
Please describe what do you hope to do if elected.
This committee is the product of long-standing demands from the Wikimedia community for some minimum standards of coexistence and conflict resolution. I have “real world” experience in the human rights approach and its application in the reasoning of the current rules. Therefore if I am elected I guarantee to be able to give attentive attention, as quickly as possible but above all with a non-punitive vision that prioritizes the conclusions of cases based on mutual understanding. I am also interested in participating in the consolidation of the committee in order to have an enriched vision coming from the Spanish speaking world and the Global South.
