About me

[edit]

I am a library specialist at a small private arts college in the Midwestern United States. I am still fairly new to editing, but I have immense passion for the survival of free knowledge. I am excited to grow my skills as an editor, learn from other Wikimedians, and share helpful and credible information about topics that fall under my expertise.

Why I edit

[edit]

Knowledge is power, but more importantly, knowledge is freedom. In the age of widespread censorship in the global West, keeping information reliable and accessible is more important than ever.

My expertise

[edit]

Fiber arts

[edit]
My sister's cat wearing a sweater that I knitted.

I am a knitting enthusiast and occasional tutor in the subject. I am also fairly well-versed in other fiber arts, such as crochet, sewing, felting, weaving, macramé, and quilting, though knitting is what I know best.

English language arts

[edit]

As a native speaker, English is, of course, a language that I know well. Much of my editing on Wikipedia is tied to fixing grammatical errors and improving brevity. In my free time, I am an essayist, which is largely why I find joy in contributing to Wikipedia.

My cat

[edit]
My beautiful late kitty, Reverend Al Sharpton, with a baby carrot.

My beloved cat, Reverend Al Sharpton (Revvy, for short), lived from 2009-2025. She had suffered from feline hyperesthesia syndrome since she was a kitten and required special care. She was incredibly sweet and affectionate with me, and I miss her every day.
