WikiTour Tunisia is the first project that combine all Wikimedia foundations projects from Wikimedia Commons, Wikivoyage and Wikipedia. The aim of this project is to help people in Tunisia to edit and write new Wikipedia articles about Tunisia in many languages Arabic, French and English, also to enrich the content of Wikimedia Tunisia by uploading pictures and images. Participants in WikiTour Tunisia will be engaged in Writing and Editing articles in Wikipedia and Wikivoyage.
WikiTour Tunisia will take place in two phases, in parallel with other Wiki contests:
- First Tour: It will be on the month of September, same time with the contest Wiki Loves Monuments
- Second Tour: It will be on the month of December, same time with the contest Wiki Loves Mosques
Better quality and quantity of content on Wikimedia projects
Goal[edit]
Wikitour is about uploading contents on different Wikimedia projects discribing Tunisian cities during one year. The overall aim of this project is editing different articles about those cities in Arabic, French and English (uploading pictures on wiki, add information .......), besides rising the number of Wikipedians and their contribution on the Wikimedia projects. The idea is to visit a number of Tunisian cities , there we will have the opportunity to make wiki editing training session and workshops. During the tours, information gathering activities and picture walks will be planned. At the end all the content will be shared with the world VIA wiki. This event will promote editing on wiki among Tunisian youth and will promote Tunisian cities via wiki

WikiTour will be hold in two differents cities in Tunisia, in each city we will organise different session of workshops for young people in schools and high schools We will make a Photo Walks in the chosen cities so that we can upload them later in Wikimedia Commons Participants will create and modify articles in Wikimedia Projects about this cities in many languages Arabic, French and English

Fit with strategy[edit]
WikiTour's goals, as presented above, specially fit to wikimedia foundation's strategy. Wikitour is a journey in different cities in Tunisia that aims to promote tourism through wikimedia projects in many languages. WikiTour will achieve the foundation's following strategic goals by:
- Increasing Reach: this tour is a step to reach out tunisian wikipedians and encourage initiatives and increase projects in Tunisia
- Increasing Participation: after each tour, particpants will be engaged to publish their photos in wikimedia commons and creating articles about visited cities.This will help to enrich wikimedia projects mainly wikivoyage, wiki commons and wikipedia in english, french and arabic languages.
- Begin the GLAM project in the museums of Tunisia
Measures of success[edit]
- Minimum of 5 workshops will be held in different Tunisian cities
- Minimum of 50 new users
- Minimum of 6,000 media uploaded
- Minimum of 300 new artciles about cities and and monuments of Tunisia
- Minimum of 1000 articles review about cities and monuments of Tunisia
- Create a new network of wikimedia TN user group on the whole territory of Tunisia

The project will be organised by the new wikimedia members of TN user group, all users will contribute in wikimedia projects by uploading photos and editing articles about visited Tunisian cities Also, they will lead workshop sessions about wikipedia for young people in schools.

Risks[edit]
- Participants who takes photos don't upload their images in wikimedia commons
- Lack of financial ressources
- No cooperation from high schools in order to provide training session inside those institutions
WikiTour Program[edit]
Each Tour will be held on three days, Participants will take a circuit through many of Tunisian towns, besides we will organize:
- Workshops and Training Sessions in schools, high schools, universities,library or Palace of Culture
- taking pictures of towns
After each tour, participants will be engaged to edit , create articles and upload photos.
First Tour[edit]
First tour will be organized in the north West of Tunisia, precisely in the Governorates of Béja and Jendouba..
