About me
Gerry Portales Yabes is a Filipino bilingual professional and creative practitioner with experience across multiple industries, including customer service, technical support, virtual assistance, lead qualification, and administrative operations. He has supported both local and international clients and has handled Spanish speaking markets in customer facing and operations roles. He is fluent in English and Spanish, with strong experience in cross cultural communication, process coordination, and remote collaboration.
He has an academic background in information technology and broadcasting. He earned a diploma in Information Technology from STI and completed three semesters of a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcasting at La Verdad Christian College. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, major in Operations Management, through an online program at Manila Business College.
In addition to his professional work, he is active in the performing arts. He has experience in film, theater, and television acting. He completed theater arts training at the Philippine Educational Theater Association Theater Center and advanced acting training based on Ivana Chubbuck’s methodology under the mentorship of film director Rahyan Carlos.
He is also involved in digital content creation and contributes to online knowledge platforms, including Wikipedia. His contributions include article creation and editing in English and Spanish, with a focus on improving clarity, accuracy, and accessibility of information.

He actively participates in expanding underdeveloped articles by adding well sourced content, improving lead sections, and correcting grammar, tone, and style to meet encyclopedic standards. He aligns content with Wikipedia’s Manual of Style to ensure consistency, readability, and proper formatting.
His bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish allows him to translate and cross reference information from Spanish language sources when appropriate. He also contributes to local language Wikipedias, including Ilocano Wikipedia and Hiligaynon Wikipedia in the incubator stage, as well as other language editions when relevant. His work in these projects helps support the development of regional language content and improve access to knowledge for local communities.
