My name is Desti Aulia Putri, a dedicated Wikimedian from Lampung, Indonesia. I am currently an active student of Lampung Language Education at the University of Lampung, where my academic interests align closely with my commitment to cultural preservation, linguistic sustainability, and the advancement of open knowledge. I view my engagement with Wikimedia not only as voluntary contribution, but also as an intellectual and social responsibility to safeguard and promote Lampung’s local heritage within the global digital sphere.

As an active member of the Komunitas Wikimedia Bandar Lampung, I have contributed to several community initiatives, including WikiLatih, WikiJejama, WikiBusanding, and the Makrab Project conducted in Krui, Pesisir Barat. Through these programs, I have participated as a contributor, content editor, and collaborator in various outreach and capacity-building activities. I also regularly attend the community’s monthly meetings, which function as important spaces for coordination, reflection, and strategic planning to strengthen the impact of Wikimedia projects at the local level.
Beyond my involvement in community programs, I actively support the digital documentation of the Lampung language, particularly Dialect A, by utilizing platforms such as Lingua Libre and Wiktionary. Through these efforts, I record vocabulary, pronunciations, and linguistic data to ensure that local language resources are preserved, openly accessible, and sustainable for future generations. For me, this work represents not merely technical documentation, but a meaningful contribution to linguistic diversity, cultural continuity, and equitable representation within the global knowledge ecosystem.
I warmly welcome opportunities to collaborate with fellow contributors, researchers, and advocates of open knowledge who share a common commitment to multilingualism, cultural sustainability, and inclusive access to information. I firmly believe that through collective effort and meaningful partnerships, we can amplify local voices and strengthen the presence of Lampung’s culture and language within the Wikimedia movement and beyond.
