Jon Ericson

Community Manager

I started my career as a programmer (who benefited from some good fortune) and pivoted to community management at Stack Overflow. I'm currently the Communities Manager at the OpenSSL Foundation after a few twists and turns.

Game Designer

I wrote an 18-card game based on Azul called Talavera. It has a page on Board Game Geek and everything.

I also created a solo wargame that uses a standard deck of cards to simulate war patrols of US submarines in the Pacific Theater of WWII. It's called USS Lox and I created it for the 2024 Wargame Print and Play Game Design Contest on BGG. At some point I'd like to create custom cards for this game, but it's not high on my list at this point.
