About me

My name is Motahareh. I was born and raised in Tehran, Iran. I hold a bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature from Payame Noor University. After completing my undergraduate studies, I worked for three years as an English/French teacher in primary schools and kindergartens, alongside my work as a private tutor. I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in English Literatures and Cultures at the Georg-August-University of Göttingen. As a literature student, I am particularly drawn to cultural and theoretical topics such as identity, transculturalism, multiculturalism, patriarchy, patriarchy, and dehumanization.

I am a melophile with a strong interest in classical music and jazz, and I am currently eager to broaden my musical taste to include indie and other genres. I enjoy writing poems and short texts in both English and Persian. During the pandemic, I developed an interest in collage-making, which I now pursue casually as a creative pastime. I also enjoy singing, and before moving to Germany, I played the electric guitar at a beginner level.

My work

I work as a Project Manager for the Iranian Wikimedians User Group, where I support the planning, coordination, and implementation of programs and activities that expand free knowledge in Persian and other languages. In this role, I help manage projects from conception to completion by organizing events, coordinating with volunteers and partners, tracking progress, and documenting outcomes. I work closely with community members, external collaborators, and Wikimedia movement stakeholders to facilitate collaboration, strengthen community engagement, and promote Wikimedia’s mission to increase access to educational and cultural content under free licenses.
