Africa Wiki Women Fellow|2026

Hello! I’m Mwale Mubanga, a 2026 Africa Wiki Women Leadership and Mentorship Fellow from Zambia. I am a recent graduate of the University of Zambia, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, and I currently work as a Research Assistant at the University of Zambia.

My work and interests sit at the intersection of agriculture, climate action, research, and community empowerment. I am especially passionate about amplifying African women’s voices, increasing access to knowledge, and supporting inclusive participation in digital and knowledge-sharing spaces.

Wikimedia Journey

I am part of the Africa Wiki Women Podcast Team, where I support storytelling, community engagement, and communications aimed at highlighting African women’s contributions within and beyond the Wikimedia movement. Through this fellowship, I am committed to learning, contributing, and helping grow Wikimedia awareness and participation in Zambia.

Community & Leadership

Beyond Wikimedia, I am actively involved in community initiatives focused on young women’s leadership and mentorship. I currently serve in a leadership role within the Bloomers Community Zambia, where I support discipleship, leadership development, and community outreach programs for young women.
