IdeaLab
Collaborators are everyday members of the Wikimedia community devoted to creating, growing, and improving Wikimedia projects. While some WMF staff are known to endorse ideas, or assist with some Funded Grants, IdeaLab is a space designed primarily for community members like yourself.
It's easy! Start by using the "Introduce yourself" box above. There, you'll be asked for your username, preferred name, and a bit about yourself. After this step, you can update your profile with skills, areas of interest, contact information, and anything else you want to share. Other IdeaLab users will be able to view your profile, and may ask you for help with their Ideas!
First, add your Idea to this page. Other collaborators will now be able to view your Idea and volunteer or endorse it if they wish. To contact potential volunteers directly, you can view and sort users according to the skills they have listed on their IdeaLab profiles here. Once you've found a user with the skills and experience you're looking for, you can invite them to assist with your Idea.
You can expand your project into a Rapid or Project Grant proposal by using the "Expand your Idea" section at the bottom of each Idea page, but make sure to read the guidelines and criteria first. It's also a good idea to discuss your project with other IdeaLab collaborators and get a few endorsements before you get started. Once you've drafted your Grant proposal, WMF staff will review it for approval.
