My name is Maxwell Omondi, a development communications practitioner based in Nairobi with a strong interest in storytelling, digital media, and open knowledge. My work focuses on using communication as a tool for social change, particularly around climate action, youth engagement, and creative expression.

I got to know about the Wikimedia User Group Kenya through the Afro Creatives Campaign in 2024. During the campaign, I learned how to create a Wikimedia profile, make basic edits, and contribute to article creation. This experience helped me understand the importance of open knowledge in documenting African stories, creatives, and community-led initiatives that are often underrepresented online.

Through Wikimedia, I hope to continue contributing content that highlights African voices and social impact work, while also growing my skills and supporting more young people to participate in knowledge creation. In my free time, I enjoy reading and watching films, which continue to influence how I think about storytelling and representation.
