Ondřej Cakl

Advocacy Advisor, [[Wikimedia Czech Republic]]

About me

I edit on Wikimedia projects under the name Ondřej Cakl (WMCZ).

My work

I started working as an advocacy coordinator for Wikimedia.cz in April 2026 with a main task in forming a new advocacy strategy for the Czech NGO. I believe, that Wikipedia both faces major challenges in coming future and that its a unique human project that can become and answer to those challenges. Before, I had worked on defending free elections, curbing climate corruption, countering online hate speech, training journalists and human rights activists (mainly in post-Soviet countries and Burma), and advocating for climate protection as well as the implementation of unconditional basic income.
