Présentation
[edit]Bonjour, Hello and welcome to my user page! This account was previously known under the username Raveloaritiana Mamisoa. The name was changed because the previous one was a bit long.
I am Mammysou17, an active contributor to the Wikimedia movement, a language activist, and passionate about education and the free sharing of knowledge, particularly in African contexts. I joined Wikipedia because I want to contribute to this wonderful adventure by bringing my knowledge and expertise in areas where I feel both passionate and competent (human right, women and girls empowerment, environment, technology). And because I also love writing and I am a professional translator.
Originally from Madagascar, I advocate for better access to information in my mother tongue, Malagasy, as well as for better representation of African cultures on Wikimedia platforms. I firmly believe that linguistic and cultural diversity is essential for a truly free and inclusive internet.
My contributions to the Wikimedia community

Contribution to the "Malagasy Public Health" campaign
I am currently participating in the Wiki Loves Women - SheSaid, campaign, an initiative aimed at increasing the presence of women on Wikiquote and documenting their inspiring words. I participate in SheSaid2025 in English and French on Wikiquote.

Because Wikiquote does not yet exist in the Malagasy language our mother tongue I am currently involved in launching the Malagasy version of wikiquote, hosted in the l'Incubateur Wikimedia sous le code Wq/mg.
This test project aims to create a collection of quotations in Malagasy while awaiting its approval as an independent Wikiquote version. I contribute to creating the first pages, highlighting notable figures, especially women, as part of various initiatives, including the #SheSaid2025 campaign.

I am also engaged in local outreach to encourage contributions to the Wikiquote project in the Malagasy language.
I firmly believe that every language and every story deserves to be heard and passed on, and that small contributions can have a big impact.
