Have you ever felt embarrassed for not being able to pronounce someone's name correctly? Or for having to listen to others pronouncing your name wrongly because they didn't know better? Give Us Your Voice wants to help to avoid such situations.
It is a project on voice files by Wikipedia volunteers. Participants register names in their mother tongue, upload them to Wikimedia Commons and integrate them into respective Wikipedia articles in different Wikipedia language versions.
As for the subject, we focus on names of people less privileged in the Wikipedias like women or PoC. Therefore, we prefer women voices. But others are not excluded.
