Wikis

For multi-language projects of Wikimedia, do the language code, followed by a dot, then the name of the project. For example, if you want the Dutch-language version of Wikiversity, you would do nl.wikiversity. You could also do nl.wikiversity.org.

Page types

This can be changed by updating the third parameter in the template, as seen in the usage above. Leave this parameter blank for the default "page(s)".

Page count and user

The page count will automatically turn plural if the count is equal to 0 or larger than 1.

0	⇒	This user has created 0 pages on Meta-Wiki.

By default, the user paramter is {{ROOTPAGENAME}}, which is used for user pages to get the username. However, the user paramter could be useful for putting the userbox in a user page, or if you just want to link to someone else's statistics.

Jimbo Wales

showname

If the showname parameter is equal to y, then it will show the name of the user rather than just saying "This user". This will work regardless if the user parameter is set.
