Hi! I’m Tadeáš Bednarz (on-wiki as Plánovací kalendář). I’ve just joined Wikimedia Czech Republic as Coordinator of Programs for Editors. In this role I support our editing community—running thematic challenges, helping newcomers and experienced editors, strengthening diversity, and encouraging long-term engagement across Wikimedia projects.
I’m not new to the movement: I served on the board of Wikimedia CZ (2021–2025), I’m an administrator on Czech Wikipedia, and an active photographer on Wikimedia Commons. Off-wiki, I work as the town chronicler of Orlová and study maritime navigation in Finland, where I also occasionally train at sea—so my camera often travels from cities and regions to ports and life on the water.
My work
At Wikimedia CZ I coordinate programs for editors, from challenges and trainings to newcomer support and diversity efforts, to keep contributors active over the long run.
What makes me happiest is seeing a newcomer get hooked on editing and stay. If you’re interested in community initiatives, edit-a-thons, or collaboration around photography and local history, feel free to reach out. Let’s make it easier—and more fun—for people to contribute and keep contributing.
