Fundraising translation feedback[edit]
Hey Aktron,
I wanted to ask for your help. As you may be aware we have been running banners on many language wikis. We have a lot of new content this year and I really want to conduct a thorough review of our translations. This is a combination of feedback from the community, readers, donors as well as those with professional translator experience. This will help us ensure the highest quality of translations used in our messaging.
To help us out with this I wonder if you would be willing to give us feedback for Polish using This Link

English/Czech translations[edit]
Hi Aktron, I hope 2014 has started in a positive way for you. I have recently joined the Fundraising team at the Wikimedia Foundation. My work will to a large extent be focused on translations. I am contacting you as I know you have been very helpful in the past, providing us with translations in Czech. We are most grateful for the contributions you have made so far and would be delighted to be able to count on your support also this year. The campaign this year will be divided into country/language sections. Our objective is to focus on one or two languages per week, and work on developing appealing fundraising messages adapted to the specific language/culture in focus. Would you be able to help us translate and provide feedback on translations in Czech? If so, would it be possible to contact you by email?

Aktron Hello! Thank you for your reply. I certainly understand that you have limited time on your hands. Would you be able to recommend me other English/Czech speakers who you think would be interested in helping us out? In order to be sure to have quality translations in Czech, we still need help to proofread three short texts listed on the Fundraising Translation Hub https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Fundraising/Translation. Our objective is also to develop alternative fundraising messages that we can test on the Czech Wikipedia during the campaign. Inspire Campaign on content curation & review[edit]
I've recently launched an Inspire Campaign to encourage new ideas focusing on content review and curation in Wikimedia projects. Wikimedia volunteers collaboratively manage vast repositories of knowledge, and we’re looking for your ideas about how to manage that knowledge to make it more meaningful and accessible. We invite you to participate and submit ideas, so please get involved today! The campaign runs until March 28th.
All proposals are welcome - research projects, technical solutions, community organizing and outreach initiatives, or something completely new! Funding is available from the Wikimedia Foundation for projects that need financial support. Constructive feedback on ideas is welcome - your skills and experience can help bring someone else’s project to life. Through June, we’re organizing an Inspire Campaign to encourage and support new ideas focusing on addressing harassment toward Wikimedia contributors. The 2015 Harassment Survey has shown evidence that harassment in various forms - name calling, threats, discrimination, stalking, and impersonation, among others - is pervasive. Available methods and systems to deal with harassment are also considered to be ineffective. These behaviors are clearly harmful, and in addition, many individuals who experience or witness harassment participate less in Wikimedia projects or stop contributing entirely.

- Ata, to be honest, I am still not entirely convinced whether I'll do the contest. We had quite some issues last year; the "alleged" travel of our winner to Armenia, the Czechoslovak Resistance category etc. We made some good results, but frankly, I would like to have an event like this with higher level of punctuality made and less blunders. So what I do need right now is someone from WMCZ to assist me; I have asked the community members numerous times, but so far no positive news came. Edit filter blocking proposal creation[edit]

I realized the message it showed you was misleading, something like "Please make sure you're creating the proposal in a valid location". In actuality, the issue is that the proposal phase has unfortunately concluded :( I'm sorry that you were so close! - MusikAnimal, I feel that yes - 2 minutes are tough to happen. I wanted to submit my proposal on a Wikimeetup that started on 17:00 UTC and then I realised how close to the deadline I was. One proposal made it through, the second did not. Too bad. So I made one melancholical/angry FB post and went over it. The first message was totally unintelligible, I had no idea why that happened, the second one was clear. But then again, I expected something like that. I tend to get deep into describing some stuff instead of watching the time. I belive all Wikipedians in general have this trait. Aktron (talk) 21:43, 20 November 2017 (UTC)

The 2021 Community Wishlist Survey is now open! This survey is the process where communities decide what the Community Tech team should work on over the next year. We encourage everyone to submit proposals until the deadline on 30 November, or comment on other proposals to help make them better. The communities will vote on the proposals between 8 December and 21 December.
The Community Tech team is focused on tools for experienced Wikimedia editors. You can write proposals in any language, and we will translate them for you. Thank you, and we look forward to seeing your proposals!

In the Survey, wishes for new and improved tools for experienced editors are collected. After the voting, we will do our best to grant your wishes. We will start with the most popular ones.
We, the Community Tech, are one of the Wikimedia Foundation teams. We create and improve editing and wiki moderation tools. What we work on is decided based on results of the Community Wishlist Survey. Once a year, you can submit wishes. After two weeks, you can vote on the ones that you're most interested in. Next, we choose wishes from the survey to work on. Some of the wishes may be granted by volunteer developers or other teams.
