My block
[edit]I am @Baran Agir, I was banned because i was suspected to be a sock. I ask you, you can keep me blocked on the other Wikipedia languages, but I'm really good and love it to work at the Kurdish Wikipedia, it was also my passion to work on it. I ask you please, you can observe my work on the Kurdish Wikipedia. I don't want to spam you, but I would like to tell you that the Kurdish Wikipedia is really close to my heart, and because this is my language and my people, I wouldn't want to cause any unrest there. What is particularly important is that I would like to create an expanded source of the Kurdish language. You are welcome to take a look at my articles on my user page. I have prepared up to 6,000 articles that will be published in the next 2 to 4 months, depending on my studies and time. -Thanks. 2001:871:210:E1C9:A8E2:CF87:C1AD:16CE 14:14, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
- I didn't banned you, because I am not a sysop here:) AramilFeraxa (Write to me!) 14:16, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
Congratulations, dear administrator!
[edit]| Congratulations, AramilFeraxa! You now have the rights of an administrator on Meta-Wiki. Please take a moment to read the Meta:Adminstrators page and watchlist related pages (in particular Meta:Requests for help from a sysop or bureaucrat, and Meta:Requests for deletion, but also Talk:Spam blacklist and Talk:Interwiki map), before launching yourself into page deletions, page protections, account blockings, or modifications of protected pages. The majority of the actions of administrators can be reversed by the other admins, except for history merges which must thus be treated with particular care. Please feel free to join us on IRC: #wikimedia-adminconnect. You may find Meta:Admin handbook to be useful. Please also check or add your entry to the Template:List of administrators. You're also allowed to subscribe to the metawiki-admins private mailing list (subscription instructions on that page). Again, congratulations and welcome to the team. --M/ (talk) 12:11, 21 April 2024 (UTC) |
Feedback?
[edit]Hi, I noticed a fork of XReport. Is there something which caused you to fork it? I'd like to improve my script. :) TenWhile6 (talk | SWMT) 09:23, 22 April 2024 (UTC)
- @TenWhile6 Hi, I was planning to just customize it a bit more and add my own wiki, maybe find some more use for it (including my local wiki) but eventually gave up :) so basically it's for deletion. AramilFeraxa (Write to me!) 09:29, 22 April 2024 (UTC)
- @AramilFeraxa Ah, okay. Just said, I am actively maintaining my script so if you want I could add plwiki to the list of supported wikis, you don't have to do it yourself and don't have to dig through my script, I can do it, just ask me on my talk page. Can you give me the vandal-report page of plwiki so I can configure it? TenWhile6 (talk | SWMT) 09:32, 22 April 2024 (UTC)
- @TenWhile6 I see that you managed :) On plwiki I happen to be a sysop so I can just block, but maybe someone else will use:) AramilFeraxa (Write to me!) 09:51, 22 April 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah:
Done plwiki is now supported, see pl:Special:Diff/73571001. Can you please translate User:TenWhile6/XReport and User:TenWhile6/XReport/languageData.json to polish? TenWhile6 (talk | SWMT) 09:52, 22 April 2024 (UTC)
- @TenWhile6 sure, I'll do it. I can also suggest adding some larger wikis that are not GSwikis, such as ms, bg, bn, uz, az, th, sk etc. AramilFeraxa (Write to me!) 09:56, 22 April 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah, there are some problems with them:
- on some of them I wasn't able to find a report page
- arabic letters are making it way more difficult
- etc. But i'll try it again on the seven wikis you mentioned. TenWhile6 (talk | SWMT) 09:58, 22 April 2024 (UTC)
- mswiki:
On hold I already tried mswiki a few months ago, see special:diff/26383197, there were huge problems. That made me a bad day back then. So I'll skip that for now, but its on my to-do list. Maybe later..... - bgwiki:
Done bg:special:diff/12211052 (with standard regex double report check) - bnwiki:
Done bn:special:diff/7340996 (with standard regex double report check; (I know it didn't work first)) - uzwiki:
Not done is a GS-wiki, so its not needed - azwiki:
Not done is a GS-wiki, so its not needed - thwiki:
Done th:special:diff/11454968 but without checking if its a double report, that was not possible there. :-( - skwiki:
Done sk:special:diff/7839465 (with standard regex double report check) - :-)

- @TenWhile6 wow, thanks! As for azwiki and uzwiki, there are gs-wiki but they have active administrators, which is why I mentioned them. AramilFeraxa (Write to me!) 11:00, 22 April 2024 (UTC)
- Ah okay but I don't think that would be very helpful, GS/R is often faster, XReport manages only not-GS-wikis (so its also easier for me to be aware of everything and don't have to maintain too much wikis). TenWhile6 (talk | SWMT) 11:04, 22 April 2024 (UTC)

Advice for my next global rollback nomination
[edit]Hello. I was wondering if you could give me advice about my next global rollback nomination, and if my cross-wiki activity looks good enough; I was thinking of applying for the role in December of this year. My first request did not go successfully due to my low cross-wiki count, and I am very familiar with w:WP:NOROLLBACK and the global rollback policy, and I do try to avoid edit warring even without the rollback right. Thank you! Codename Noreste 🤔 La Suma 08:36, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Codename Noreste Hi. I can't advise you a specific time that will be right: you have to feel it, it's personal :) First of all, you need to be sure of what you are doing and take your time. And it should be really xwiki activity. AramilFeraxa (Write to me!) 09:49, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
Please protect my talk page
[edit]Hello, can you please protect my talk page for IP-users? We are having to deal with a LTA. Thank you! Koreanovsky (Ča–Kaj–Što?!) 21:08, 27 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Koreanovsky hi. It's only one vandal and I've already blocked him so I think it's not necessary at the moment. AramilFeraxa (Talk) 21:13, 27 May 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @AramilFeraxa, it's sadly a global LTA - he is doing the same on commons, meta, simple.wiki - did the same on my talk page here in 2020. Koreanovsky (Ča–Kaj–Što?!) 21:15, 27 May 2024 (UTC)
- Ok but still, on meta that are 2 edits today and one 4 years ago. As I sad, I think that protection is not necessary. If the vandalizing intensifies, then I will do it. AramilFeraxa (Talk) 21:41, 27 May 2024 (UTC)

Reminder
[edit]User:Cewbot on zhwikinews is an admin bot, it cannot handle the delete request. Hehua (talk) 13:07, 7 June 2024 (UTC)
- @Hehua hi, it doesn't matter, there are three other admins who have performed the action in the past week. The GSRequests header clearly says: This page is monitored by global sysops and stewards for simple requests for deletion or blocking on wikis with no active administrators. AramilFeraxa (Talk) 13:10, 7 June 2024 (UTC)
- I don't think they are so active. Hehua (talk) 13:13, 7 June 2024 (UTC)
- the most active one acted 4 days ago. This may make the page continue to be on the wiki. Hehua (talk) 13:15, 7 June 2024 (UTC)
- Just a quick note; As mentioned above, GSR is mostly meant for requesting admin actions on wikis with no, or almost no, active sysops. Zhwikinews is a GS wiki, yes, but unless the request regards something requiring quick action (such as blocking ongoing vandalism when no local admins are available), preferrably we want to leave that to local administrators if they are active. Zhwikinews have relatively active local sysops; three have edited and two have made admin actions in the past week. EPIC (talk) 13:17, 7 June 2024 (UTC)
- @Hehua It is not vandalism, so it is not urgent. As I wrote before, GS help on the wiki without active admins or in urgent situations. AramilFeraxa (Talk) 13:17, 7 June 2024 (UTC)
- OK. Thank you for your help. Hehua (talk) 13:20, 7 June 2024 (UTC)
Further Discussion on Username Usurpation
[edit]Dear AramilFeraxa, Thank you for your response. I completely understand the policy regarding valid contributions. However, considering the prolonged inactivity of over 18 years with only 26 edits, I kindly request reconsideration.
Would it be possible to notify the current user and suggest a name change for them? If they do not respond within a reasonable time, perhaps the account could be usurped following standard procedures. This way, the current user has the opportunity to retain their presence, while I can make use of the desired username.
I appreciate your time and further consideration.
Best regards, IPooya (talk) 12:14, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
- Hello, no, there is no such option. It is customary if a user has more than a dozen edits then the username is not usurped. See some archived request. AramilFeraxa (Talk) 12:17, 27 August 2024 (UTC)

Reporting that LTA
[edit]Hi AramilFeraxa. Just wanted to ask you not to report *that* LTA to SRG. If you include their name/acronym, you will see it's disallowed. If they continue on a single IP for bit, then sure, but 99% of the time it's not worth the report. TIA -- Amanda (she/her) 20:01, 15 September 2024 (UTC)

- Hi, it was 2 hours after the last edition of this IP, I found it worth reporting. But if you think so, ok, my mistake. AramilFeraxa (Talk) 14:51, 24 September 2024 (UTC)

Tool to mass remove images?
[edit]Hi! You seems to have tools for everything. What about a tool to mass remove images? I was asked on a wiki where a few hundred files are about to be deleted. And they would prefer not to do it manually. I do not have a bot flag there otherwise I thing image.py could do it. MGA73 (talk) 14:13, 22 December 2024 (UTC)
- @MGA73 Hi! If they are categorized, then QD will do the job. If not then maybe you can use MassDelete script (not mine). AramilFeraxa (Talk) 19:16, 22 December 2024 (UTC)
Script to delink a single file
[edit]Hi! You have scripts for everything it seems. Do you also have a script that can delink a single file? In a moment of madness I said yes to be a temporary admin on a wiki so I can delete bad files. The unused files was easy but there are 500+ files in use that should be checked one by one and in many cases deleted. I was thinking of something like a script that adds a link or button on a file page and if I decide to delete the file I can click "remove bad file" and it jumps to the page(s) that uses the file and remove the file and perhaps ask me to save the page to confirm that the edit is okay. To be able to use it on different wikis it should be easy to add a local namespace like Faili or Picha etc. MGA73 (talk) 15:55, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
- @MGA73 Hi, I don't exactly have one, but I can write :) to be clear - do you want, when you click “remove bad file”, to remove a given file from the pages on which it appears, or perform a delete action on the file? AramilFeraxa (Talk) 17:12, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
- Oooooo nice! I would like it to remove the link. I can delete the file later when I have checked the removal of the file. I imagine that the script can also be used to remove broken links. I had a case where 73 pages used an non-existing file. I used replace.py to fix that because it was so many files. But if it is only a few files it would be nice with a button to remove the broken links. The reason I think it should not save the page automatic is because sometimes its nice to check before page is removed. But it would be nice with an option in the script "auto-delete=y #Chose y or n" so its easy to change if script proves to make very few mistakes. --MGA73 (talk) 17:35, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
- @MGA73 Ok, I'll do the delinker first and then we'll talk more about broken links :) I'll try to figure it out over the weekend but if I don't succeed then I'll do it on Monday. AramilFeraxa (Talk) 18:24, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot. Delinker is fine. I think it Can remove broken links too if I stand on the non-existing file and click the button. --MGA73 (talk) 20:23, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
- @MGA73 Please try how it works User:AramilFeraxa/FileDelinker.js I've noticed that unfortunately it sometimes shows “no difference” when previewing changes and doesn't perform any action even though the link to the file is there but I don't know what this is due to. With auto-save I did not notice this problem. AramilFeraxa (Talk) 12:35, 18 January 2025 (UTC)
- Hello! I copied to sw:Mtumiaji:MGA73/FileDelinker.js but when I check for example sw:Faili:Arthurs Seat Edinburgh.jpg I do not see a button/link with "Delink file"?
- The problem with delinking files is that sometimes they are in text like [[File:Foo.jpg|thumb|left|Whatever]] and sometimes in a infobox so without the [[File:...]]. And sometimes the infobox require a "File:" and sometimes not. And there can be more variants (File|Image|Faili|Picha). --MGA73 (talk) 16:22, 18 January 2025 (UTC)
- @MGA73 Did you load it in your common.js? AramilFeraxa (Talk) 16:45, 18 January 2025 (UTC)
- The script considers various prefixes ("File:") but infobox does not. I will try to add such functionality. AramilFeraxa (Talk) 16:47, 18 January 2025 (UTC)
- Don't copy-paste the code. Just add to your common.js this line:
mw.loader.load('https://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?action=raw&ctype=text/javascript&title=User:AramilFeraxa/FileDelinker.js');AramilFeraxa (Talk) 16:50, 18 January 2025 (UTC)- Hi. Yes I added to sw:Mtumiaji:MGA73/common.js. I see no difference if I link to the local or to the one on meta. Perhaps the other scripts are messing it up? --MGA73 (talk) 16:59, 18 January 2025 (UTC)
- @MGA73 Now it should work. The difference is that if I correct something, you will have the changes visible immediately and when you copy the (old) code, you would have to do it with every little fix. AramilFeraxa (Talk) 17:35, 18 January 2025 (UTC)
- Oooo this looks very nice. There is just a minor problem: sw:Special:Diff/1387852. It removes a lot of text and makes no edit summary :-) I just tried this one file. I will try a few more to see the result. --MGA73 (talk) 17:52, 18 January 2025 (UTC)

- sw:Special:Diff/1387861 now have an edit summary. --MGA73 (talk) 18:07, 18 January 2025 (UTC)
- @MGA73 ok, I also improved the functionality at <gallery> and added in infoboxes as well (do CTRL+SHIFT+R). Unfortunately, it is impossible to make it so that all pages open in new tabs (that's why there is such a list of them) because browsers block it.
BZPN (talk) 12:45, 6 February 2025 (UTC)

Hello and request for deeper info/help with Wikipedia
[edit]Hello! I'm incredibly new to navigating Wikipedia and I have some desire to help edit but with how deep the history and culture already seems to be with it, I don't know where to start. Also, what can I do about being on an administrated computer whose organization changes my IP? I dug a little and it seems like stewards can do something with that but I'm not too knowledgeable about it(again, being so new to this unbelievably dense web of being). Thanks! 97.64.62.169 13:55, 14 March 2025 (UTC)
Possible enwiki sockpuppet?
[edit]Howdy,
Stumbled across your block of Breath1Fire for cross-wiki abuse - having taken a look at their edits, I'm reasonably sure they're the same user as SelfStarter2, a known enwiki sockpuppeteer. I'll be posting a similar question to WP:AN, but figured I'd ask for your insight as well. The Kip (talk) 04:04, 28 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @The Kip, if you will be able on enwiki to confirm the connection with SelfStarter2, I can change gblock to lock as lock evasion. AramilFeraxa (talk) 07:04, 28 March 2025 (UTC)
- @AramilFeraxa See this comment - FireBreathMan, who was conclusively linked to Breath1Fire, is almost certainly SelfStarter. The Kip (talk) 04:48, 29 March 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I hope you're doing well. It's been a month since I was elected as a Global Sysop, and I was wondering if it would be possible for me to request the Global Rollback bit. I understand that I can receive it upon request. Best, Galahad (sasageyo!)(esvoy) 01:18, 5 April 2025 (UTC)

Quick help
[edit]Hi AramilFeraxa,
May you please grant me regular adminship on Chitumbuka Wikipedia (tum) for a period of just only 4 hours (preferably).
There are specific tasks I would like to carry such as importing some specific new templates, update protected home templates, pages, etc.
I am very aware of SRP, but given the shortness period of time, I thought of simply approaching you.
I have been a sysop (IA) on the wiki for several times (3-4 times), so I am very trusted with tools (plus had translated the entire wiki into local language alone + wiki logo, etc).
Your quick action will be appreciated. :)

- It was blocked for no reason, two wikis listed the reason as trolling. No one responds to my requests to unblock the account because there was no substantial reason for the blocking, so I can't solve this issue on the local wiki because they want me to be blocked regardless of the fact that I didn't do anything. In 4 wiki was blocked after I created a talk page on the local wiki, and the content I inserted on the page was quickly deleted. I am the only account that edits, my first account Filipović Zoran is on permanent wiki vacation, but that didn't make it difficult to block him, even though there hasn't been any editing in over six months. pl:b:Specjalna:Filtr_nadużyć i osiągnięcie limitu warunku oraz filtry globalne
Persino (talk) 08:21, 6 September 2025 (UTC)

recently, Nemoralis and i were assigned as sysops on azwiktionary. however, instead of 3 months, –which was noted in the comment– we were given the sysop permission indefinitely (you can check it here; there's no xxx tarixinə qədər specified after inzibatçı), which doesn't comply with the mvr and is likely an error.

IP block issue
[edit]Hello! I've noticed you blocked my IP on Wikimedia for Open proxy.
The reason is I have to use VPN tool to enter the Wiki websites due to the censorship policy of my country. Besides I already have the role of the IPBE on Wikipedia.
Is the IPBE role independent between two websites? Should I request another IPBE on Wikimedia?
Looking forward to your reply. Thanks!
