Hello, I replied you, please see.[1] --Nemo 23:13, 21 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I'm sorry for the confusion, but I'm no longer an admin on this wiki, so I can't help you. WM:RFH is still the best place to ask; you can also contact User:Hoo man or other non-WMF admins that you see active on Special:CentralNoticeLogs (currently broken by a bug). --Nemo 20:42, 25 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Did you try contacting some of these people? I'd evaluate your request, but I'm not an admin here (yet).πr2 (t • c) 15:08, 30 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm scrambling to get an admin to evaluate the request. πr2 (t • c) 17:02, 30 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
An admin has commented on RFH (see bottom)!! πr2 (t • c) 17:08, 30 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

MF-Warburg is very helpful, isn't he? :P πr2 (t • c) 19:45, 30 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes he is! Thanks guys! :-) Benoit Rochon (talk) 20:23, 30 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

How can we improve Wikimedia grants to support you better?[edit]

Hi! The Wikimedia Foundation would like your input on how we can reimagine Wikimedia Foundation grants to better support people and ideas in your Wikimedia project.

After reading the Reimagining WMF grants idea, we ask you to complete this survey to help us improve the idea and learn more about your experience. When you complete the survey, you can enter to win one of five Wikimedia globe sweatshirts!

In addition to taking the the survey, you are welcome to participate in these ways:

This survey is in English, but feedback on the discussion page is welcome in any language.

With thanks,

I JethroBT (WMF), Community Resources, Wikimedia Foundation.

Hi, this is a reminder that the consultation about Reimagining WMF grants is closing on 8 September (0:00 UTC). We encourage you to complete the survey now, if you haven't yet done so, so that we can include your ideas.

With thanks,

This is a message from the Wikimedia Foundation. Translations are available.

As you may know, the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees approved a new "Access to nonpublic information policy" on 25 April 2014 after a community consultation. The former policy has remained in place until the new policy could be implemented. That implementation work is now being done, and we are beginning the transition to the new policy.

An important part of that transition is helping volunteers like you sign the required confidentiality agreement. All Wikimedia volunteers with access to nonpublic information are required to sign this new agreement, and we have prepared some documentation to help you do so.

The Wikimedia Foundation is requiring that OTRS volunteers sign the new confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015 to retain their access. You are receiving this email because you have been identified as an OTRS volunteer and are required to sign the confidentiality agreement under the new policy. If you do not sign the new confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015, you will lose your OTRS access. OTRS volunteers have a specific agreement available, if you have recently signed the general confidentiality agreement for another role (such as CheckUser or Oversight), you do not need to sign the general agreement again, but you will still need to sign the OTRS agreement.

Signing the confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information is conducted and tracked using Legalpad on Phabricator. We have prepared a guide on Meta-Wiki to help you create your Phabricator account and sign the new agreement: Confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information/How to sign

If you have any questions or experience any problems while signing the new agreement, please visit this talk page or email me (gvarnum(_AT_)wikimedia.org). Again, please sign this confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015 to retain your OTRS access. If you do not wish to retain this access, please let me know and we will forward your request to the appropriate individuals.

Thank you,
Gregory Varnum (User:GVarnum-WMF), Wikimedia Foundation

Inspire Campaign on content curation & review[edit]

I've recently launched an Inspire Campaign to encourage new ideas focusing on content review and curation in Wikimedia projects. Wikimedia volunteers collaboratively manage vast repositories of knowledge, and we’re looking for your ideas about how to manage that knowledge to make it more meaningful and accessible. We invite you to participate and submit ideas, so please get involved today! The campaign runs until March 28th.

All proposals are welcome - research projects, technical solutions, community organizing and outreach initiatives, or something completely new! Funding is available from the Wikimedia Foundation for projects that need financial support. Constructive feedback on ideas is welcome - your skills and experience can help bring someone else’s project to life. Join us at the Inspire Campaign to improve review and curation tasks so that we can make our content more meaningful and accessible! I JethroBT (WMF) 05:39, 29 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Request for Input - New Central Notice request process[edit]

Hello fellow CN admin!

Back in February I emailed the CN-admin list regarding part of my role to look into the Central Notice process and see where we could make improvements including: the campaign process; its functionality or lack thereof; and fundamentally the documentation that supports it. You can see many of the issues that I identified at CentralNotice/Process_Review. If there is anything additional that you feel has been left out then please feel free to leave any comments on the talk page.

My first task is to improve the requesting of campaigns by communities and affiliates. I am looking to set up a more formal request process, similar to those used in many projects. The aim is to: increase the transparency of Central Notice; improve the support provided to affiliates (including making such support more consistent); to provide a forum for community input into campaigns.

I have been working on a very rough strawman version of the process and I would be interested in hearing you comments about what such a process should involve and what you think it would require. Please feel free to leave such comments at the process talk page section. I would like to have a working page in place by the end of May. This would not need to be a final version. The process can be improved upon over time as we learn about how well it works.

I encourage you to:

Regards

Jseddon (WMF) (talk) Advancement Associate (Community Engagement) -- 02:44, 28 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Through June, we’re organizing an Inspire Campaign to encourage and support new ideas focusing on addressing harassment toward Wikimedia contributors. The 2015 Harassment Survey has shown evidence that harassment in various forms - name calling, threats, discrimination, stalking, and impersonation, among others - is pervasive. Available methods and systems to deal with harassment are also considered to be ineffective. These behaviors are clearly harmful, and in addition, many individuals who experience or witness harassment participate less in Wikimedia projects or stop contributing entirely.

Proposals in any language are welcome during the campaign - research projects, technical solutions, community organizing and outreach initiatives, or something completely new! Funding is available from the Wikimedia Foundation for projects that need financial support. Constructive feedback on ideas is appreciated, and collaboration is encouraged - your skills and experience may help bring someone else’s project to life. Join us at the Inspire Campaign so that we can work together to develop ideas around this important and difficult issue. With thanks,

I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 17:46, 31 May 2016 (UTC) (Opt-out instructions)[reply]

Discussion concerning you[edit]

Cordialement, Benoit Rochon (talk) 00:41, 3 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

CentralNotice guidelines[edit]

Hello, please start following the CentralNotice guidelines. When you create campaigns, you must at the very least add them to the CentralNotice/Calendar (ideally with links for context or discussions, if existing). --Nemo 08:36, 27 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Importer sur Commons[edit]

Bonjour, Benoît !
J'ai besoin de votre aide. Le 19-07-2017, j'ai envoyé le mail à l'adresse : permissions-fr@wikimedia.org - avec 4 fiches jointes :

Quick Question[edit]

Hi, This question may be a long shot but do you know how to say "Village in China" in the Atikamekw language? Im planning to update Wikidata entries and this would help improve about 500k entries. Thank you. --Artix Kreiger (Message Wall) 04:05, 19 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Time to meet at Wikimania?[edit]

Hello Benoit!

I am a researcher at CivilServant here at Wikimania and I'd love to connect here if your schedule is not fully booked. CivilServant is a research nonprofit and we are talking to non-English language Wikipedias about possible collaborations to test ways to improve newcomer retention and editor experience (which you can read about here).

Let me know if you might have time to meet before the conference is out - and if perhaps it is appropriate for me to attend the WikiFranca meetup this evening. Hope we get to connect soon either way!

.Anja. (talk) 11:40, 15 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Oui, bien sûr .Anja., merci !

Wiktionnaire Slavey[edit]

Salut, Benoit. Comment ça va?

Requests for new languages/Wiktionary Slavey is in my next set of proposals to take to LangCom. Certainly overall there is no reason not to mark as eligible. Just one complication: den is marked as a macrolanguage, consisting of "North Slavey" (scs) and "South Slavey" (xls). There are no Incubator projects in either of those languages, and to the best of my ability to tell (on very limited background data) the differences are in pronunciation more than anything else.

Simple question: Do you see a reason we need to insist on separate projects? Or are you (is Wikimedia Canada) happy with a single project?

Also: A user called NWTLibrarian created some content for this on one day last summer (2017). Do you have any idea who that might be? Can you encourage that user?

A bientôt, StevenJ81 (talk) 15:11, 18 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Merci Benoit. C'est trés apprécié. --Viticulum (talk) 20:51, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

CentralNotice[edit]

Hi Benoit, I see that you are more or less online now and I need a help from you as a central notice admin. Could you please have a look at CentralNotice/Request/Wikimarathon 2019 for UKWP and set up the campaign? The campaign is already prepared https://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:CentralNotice&subaction=noticeDetail&notice=WMUA_Wikimarathon_2019 and needs only two tiny changes:

  • enable it (ready but not enabled at Special:CentralNotice)
  • adjust dates (26 Jan 00:00 to 31 Jan 00:00), i.e. move by one day.

This is unfortunately very urgent: this is a short campaign and we really need to have it live at Ukrainian sunrise, i.e. in a couple of hours. Thank you very much in advance — NickK (talk) 01:38, 26 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

CentralNotice[edit]

Salut Benoit.

Le bon texte devrait être "Share pictures of "Africa and Play" with the entire world and win great prizes!"

Tu peux nous aider ?

Anthere (talk) 22:49, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Benoit Rochon (talk) 13:23, 2 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. You are receiving this message because you are active in the field of translations <3 The movement needs you! The Nominations phase has started for the ongoing selection process of two Board members, and the timeline is quite tight.

A Translation Central is available to help translators figure out what's been covered and what's left to do. Over the course of the next few weeks, your attention on candidates' profiles is particularly welcome.

While there are four languages that are especially relevant for multiple affiliates (namely Arabic, French, Russian and Spanish), you can also add others. If you can't help: please see if you know anyone in your circle who could, and spread the word :) Thank you! Elitre (WMF) and Facilitators of ASBS 2019, 13:20, 18 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The Research team could use your help[edit]

Hello. You are receiving this message because of your recent activity in the Translations namespace.

The Wikimedia Research team is developing a new algorithm that automatically recommends sections for editors to add to articles. Translations have already occurred for some of the few languages that we are testing in, except for Spanish and Russian. If you have some time in the next few days, please consider translating the short message (only 6 items) we aim to send out soon, in one or both of these languages. (And if you feel like you want to support your tester peers even more, you can do so by taking care of the related instructions page.)

Thank you! Jonathan Morgan & Diego Saez-Trumper, Wikimedia Foundation Research - 18:14, 19 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

WikiConvention francophone CentralNotice[edit]

(Cross-posting to your talk pages on Meta and fr.wp, as your Meta talk page redirects to fr.wp and I'm not certain which talk page you prefer.)

A few days ago you added an item to the CentralNotice calendar regarding a proposed banner intended to start on July 8, advertising the WikiConvention Francophone in Brussels. Unfortunately, you did not go through the required process of starting a CentralNotice request page and notifying the target project of the proposal at least seven days in advance, per the guidelines. Per prior consensus, it will not be possible for a non-consensus-backed banner to run. Perhaps if you would begin the process now, it would be possible to still run the banner at some later date, if the target projects agree. --Yair rand (talk) 18:40, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Demande d'aide[edit]

Cordialement,

Merci d'avance--Tehenu (talk) 19:46, 18 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Benoit Rochon (talk) 23:14, 18 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Community Wishlist Survey 2020[edit]

Hello!

You are getting this message because you've previously participated in the Community Wishlist Survey, in either the Wikisource or Wiktionary categories. I wanted to let you know that this year's survey is now open for proposals. You can suggest technical changes until November 11. Unlike previous years, we are only accepting proposals for non-Wikipedia content projects with no dedicated teams (i.e., Wikibooks, Wiktionary, Wikiquote, Wikisource, Wikiversity, Wikispecies, Wikivoyage, and Wikinews). You can learn more on the survey page.

You can vote on proposals from November 20 to December 2. To keep the number of messages at a reasonable level, I won't send out a separate reminder to you about that. We look forward to your participation. Thank you! IFried (WMF) (talk) 18:52, 22 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Community Tech Launches Wikisource Improvement Initiative[edit]

Hello,

We hope you are all healthy and safe in these difficult times.

We now invite you to share your feedback on the project talk page. Please let us know what you think of our project analysis; we want to hear from you! Furthermore, we hope that you will participate in the other Wikisource improvement projects, which we’ll address in the future. Thank you in advance and we look forward to reading your feedback on the project talk page!

Discussion about CentralNotice Adminship inactivity and membership[edit]

Hello Brochon99. There's an ongoing discussion happening on Meta:Babel that proposes changes to existing Meta:Central notice administrators practices. In particular: membership duration and inactivity. As a current volunteer central notice administrator, your participation in the discussion would be appreciated. Thank you, --MarcoAurelio (via MassMessage) (talk) 10:45, 21 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I need the help of a translationadmin in moving a page[edit]

Dear Brochon99,

How is your day going? I don't mean to take so much of your time. I raised a little issue on Babylon's Talk and would be so lucky to have you help out. Thank you Danidamiobi (talk) 22:22, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Administrative removal of central notice administrator permissions (October 2023)[edit]

Hello Brochon99,

I regret to inform you that your central notice administrator permissions have been administratively removed per policy, because you have not used these permissions (to make any edit or logged action for which cn-admin permissions would be required) in the last 12 months. See Meta:Administrators/Removal (inactivity)/October 2023 and Meta:Central notice administrators § Removal of access for details.

Kind regards, —MarcoAurelio (talk) 11:34, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
