[edit]I was told by a user that you believe in a more inclusionist policy on wikipedia. I am having some trouble with an article some of us have been trying to write regarding a somewhat obscure holiday. If you agree it should be deleted, no big deal, but if you agree it should be included, I would appreciate any help you could offer in ending the AfD debate to keep the article. Thanks.

Oxford bid
[edit]Many thanks. I'm very keen to support the bid. I'm reasonably familiar with Oxford, but now live in Sheffield and sadly do not expect to be able to help out greatly with fundraising or booking venues, so I thought I'd help out as best I can on the bid page. - No problem - I will do my best! Warofdreams 01:10, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
---cfp 23:39, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

Wikimedia UK v2.0, here we come!
[edit]See Wikimedia UK v2.0. I'll start thinking about a spam message. The paragraph at the top of that page is probably a good starting point. --Tango 16:56, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
Hi. What brought about Wikimedia UK v2.0 please? I've looked through various edit histories but can't find anything where it was discussed. I'm curious to know about the process that led to v2.0. Cheers, --Rebroad 14:01, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
- There was an announcement on the UK mailing list that WM UK v1.0 was going to be dissolved, so a plan to make a v2.0 was begun almost immeadiately (the initial discussions took place on IRC, the page on meta was created soon after). --Tango 14:27, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
- There had in fact been discussions both on and off mailing list about the possibility of forming a new WMUK prior to the announcement that v1.0 was folding, as there were some indications that unless things improved WMUK 1.0's "official chapter" status may have been withdrawn. --14:34, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
- True, but never in any detail, just that the option was there as a last resort. --Tango 14:38, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
Wikimedia UK 2.0 Voting is open :-)
[edit]A warm hello to all those signed up as guarantor members of the soon-to-be-rebooted UK chapter! Voting is now open over at meta - there's tons of information online over there, and the mailing list has been very active too. Discussion, comment (and even the inevitable technical gremlins!) are most welcome at the meta pages, otherwise please do send in your vote/s, and tell a friend about the chapter too :-) Privatemusings 22:29, 20 September 2008 (UTC)I'm not actually involved in the election workings, and am just dropping these notes in to help try and spread the word :-) I welcome any or all comment too, but 'election related' stuff really is better suited to the meta pages :-)
Please visit this page if you wish to contribute to a centralized discussion about a Wikimedia genealogy project. Thank you! --Another Believer (talk) 21:47, 26 February 2014 (UTC)
